I recently used the Magmaniac Stair Tread Template Tool Jig, and it made my stair installation so much easier! The dual nut design provides a secure hold, ensuring accurate measurements every time. I just received this and haven't used it yet. But I did put it together as I will be using it in the next couple days. For starters it came very well packaged and protected. Assembly was pretty easy. And the carrying case that it comes with fits everything perfect in it.This is definitely an upgrade to the one I've been using for the last few years. Very good quality and a simple design. I do a lot of stair installations so there's no doubt in my mind that I will love using this one.I'd say for the price you're not going to find a better one for stair and shelf templates than this one.

This is an awesome stair thread (or shelf) template tool.It arrived packaged nicely, disassembled, and it kept the tool in perfect shape, no bends, no dings, scratches or dents, attention to finish is outstanding, it's carrying case came folded as i assume they were trying to save on transportation volume.I used it to cut threads for a stair that needed repair and the result was outstanding, i did check the measurements and the markings were very precise.The quality of the material is outstanding and the contrast on the markings makes it highly visible.This is a big one, NO SHARP EDGES.I already owned a stair tread template but this design looked like it'd work more efficiently and it does. The "older" model has 4-8 knobs that needs adjusting from tread to tread, while this one needs adjustment its definitely less convoluted, and it doesn't need assembly before each use.Once assembled for the first time it stores in its case, and its ready to be deployed/used, i LOVED that compared to the other models where i'd have to put together/apart when done.Overall, i really liked this tool a lot and i recommend it on value, quality and functionality, it's not the cheapest option, but innovation doesn't come cheap and the quality is definitely there!

This is a really nice tool, and I am happy with the quality for the price. I have used cheep template devices that are always a struggle in one way or another, and this looks like it will be a joy to use. It is very well made and includes a great case. The case even has a mesh pouch for storing the spare parts (when you loose one of the really cool knurled aluminum knobs…a spare is included!)

I install alot of lvp on treads and risers it is an excellent tool and worth the $, you get what you pay for.

Wow. I'm impressed.Short of a Woodpeckrer version of this tool, which would probably be $500+, I don't think it's going to get much better. And even if it was machined EVERYTHING, the final results in your work would be the same.Opening the box, you'll find all the parts securely held in place with a custom foam insert. The instructions are surprisingly good with clear pictures and assembly steps. It does take a few minutes to assemble, but it's very simple once you learn where all the parts go.The operation of this tool is easy, accurate, and fast. With the stops positioned on the fixed edge, the sides can be adjusted as needed and tightened to hold their position, which they do flawlessly. After that, simply transfer those measurements to your work piece and cut. Done.Now when it comes time to store this tool as it's not an everyday tool, it could be a problem with all the parts that this thing has (and the extra parts they included in case you lost one). It turns out this is not a problem because the tool folds up and fits nicely in the included case. I did cut the shoulder strap off the case so it would be easier to store and I wasn't planning on taking this on any hikes.Overall 5/5. Very impressed and happy to have this tool. Don't waste your money on the cheaper ones.

I have been a woodworker and carpenter now for 40 years.I spent about 3 years in a custom staircase shop and have done many treads in custom built staircases.This template arrived and I unpacked and set it up and I am VERY happy with the quality of this product!Angled and deep treads may be an issue but other than that this can span 23-63 inch steps and give a quick and accurate template!I built my own jig many years ago that was very similar to this as this design just works well and quickly (Time is money and expensive wood is costly if mistakes are made!)The case id different, but actually works well so no complaints there...This is also excellent for shelving and quickly gets you cutting!If you need a template for stairs or shelves you really cant go wrong with this!All AL construction is well made and nicely finished, this really does fall into the Professional category of tools which I have a LOT of!Seriously a great template, if you need this I HIGHLY recommend this as it is just on point in every aspect, simple and quality that works without issues, you won't have any issues with this!PS in the 1x bar set up for 23-47" this STAYS assembled in the case and it's literally 30 seconds to have the layout and start cutting... Love that! Again, time is money and quality drives the $... this gives both!
