My wife got me a Green Egg for Fathers Day and it came with a kit. One part of the kit was the fire starter things you light up. You can go through those pretty quick so I decided to give this a try. Works great. I put it on the bottom of the egg, dump my lump charcoal on it, plug it in and in about 15 minutes I have a nice fire starting. I thing The Green Egg sells something similar but for about twice the cost.

Got a Kamado Joe this summer. Read about this on a bbq blog. Thought i would try it. It works better and less smoke than firestarters. So far very impressed.

Nothing to report except it works as it should and doesn’t throw the ground fault like the last one did. So far so good and it does work well in the Green Egg.

This is hotter and wiser than the name brand (GE) it is replacing. The charcoal gets ready very fast.

This is my second one of these. First one came with my Kamado Joe BBQ, lasted 4 years used a couple times a week. Eventually the handle got very brittle from the heat and I dropped it and it shattered. Tried a cheaper version / brand, and it was almost crap. Bought another Stanbroil 600W and its doing just as well as the first one. Highly recommended, and had no issues at all.
