The igniter doesn’t work.The gas control valve does not work. It only allows gas to pass through if you are holding the knob “in” as you would to initially light. Once the knob is released, it cuts off the gas flow- regardless of the knob position.And now I’m forced to take everything back apart so I can send this cheap ass Chinese POS back to order another one made by someone else.No problem with the seller- item came as promised- although no directions were included. I wouldn’t have used them anyway!

If you have a firepit that you've neglected, or it has simply aged, or you ruined the thermocouple wire pulling the tank out. This kit is for you.Fairly easy to replace (it was hard getting the old one loose), but after that, everything fit exactly as intended.Our igniter died a couple years ago and now that works too! Great kit.

From what I can see and feel. The Stanbroil Low Pressure Propane Gas Flame Failure Safety Control Valve Kit with Fire Pit Push Button seems to be a decent product. We tried to install it but it didn't work for our application. The existing fitting on our fire pit hose on the valve and on the burner are not what we expected. We are thinking its a 7/16" , but adapters were not available locally in a 7/16" to trial fit the the hose fittings.Not the fault of the product or the vendor. We took it for granted, that our situation was "universal". From what we thought. I have not concerns of the product, just confirm your application so you are not wasting your time an energy like I did.A good value, good and stable. It most instances it should work. But it did for us. Nice quality feel and I do recommend.

I’m using this for my DIY fire pit. The valve works great, and I like the auto-shutoff safety feature. If the flame blows out, it automatically shuts off the gas supply. Start-up is reliable: push to turn counter-clockwise a quarter turn, push on the igniter button and hold for a few seconds as the sensor warms up, then release and adjust the flame. Installation is straightforward. Use yellow teflon tape on the NPT connections just like on any propane project, and make sure the sensor is close to the flame. Same with the igniter- make sure the electrode is close to a jet, and it will ignite the first time. Recommended.
