I mounted it to my lunch box and now I really am as cool as I think I am. It fits the belt clip perfectly and seems very secure.

Its construction exceeded my expectations. This clip holder is beefy. So beefy, in fact, I decided to use it to secure my Yaesu FT3DR to my RZR dashboard. The radio has the hinge-type belt clip that attaches to the battery. It locks in with authority, does not rattle, and yet releases easily enough when you want to remove the radio. The shock loads in a RZR can be extreme, however. My concern now isn’t the mount itself, but the durability of the radios spring-clip hinge construction. Particularly where the steel pin and plastic meet. That will fail before this mount does. I think “rock solid” is a fair description of the mount itself. In less severe shock-loading applications, such as marine and aircraft, this unit is absolutely up to the task. The unit provides positive retention, and it holds the radio tight even during extensive positive and negative G shock loads. So if you find yourself inverted (talking to pilots here, not sailors. If sailors find themselves inverted, they have bigger problems. Pilots do this stuff on purpose), I don’t think your radio is going anywhere. Not saying this is a great mount for F-14 Tomcats, but more than enough for a Cessna 152. Great bit of kit here.

Still intact, 6 months later, husband has been using it every day. Really likes this product. So far, no problems with it, has been very durable. At this point, I feel comfortable recommending it for its ease-of-use, functionality and durability.

This thing mounted easily and holds the radio very securely. It's for a second radio on my boat and does a great job.
