I’ve bought this part twice to repair the Door ajar warning for the drivers door on a 2003 Ford explorer. The first time was 2018. It worked great until this year when the warning came back. I diagnosed it to the drivers door again. Since the first one lasted 6 years I figured it was a good value and I’d just order it again.The one I order this year looked exactly the same and was the same size. I installed it easily but now the vehicle thinks the door is always closed. No matter what I do it still thinks it’s closed, which is better than alway open but is still problematic. I uninstalled and reinstalled the part just to make sure I did it correctly and it still thought the door was always closed.So either I got a bad one or something has changed in the quality. I read a review somewhere recently about someone else saying they had the same issue with it always thinking it was closed. Maybe there is a bad batch or something. I opted to return this one and just bought an OEM part instead of risking another bad one. It was only ten dollars more but worked perfectly. My wasted time was worth more than the ten dollars.

the locking tab is to high causing switch not to work properly. defiantly a design flaw trying to mimic the OEM switch that aftermarket still cant get right. now its past the return window but im still going to contact amazon anyway. do not buy this switch just spend the extra and get OEM.

This is one of the best devices for those who Ford door locks will not automatically lock. If there are not any broken wires, it takes circa 150 minutes to install, but once it's completed, everything works.

Vehicle thought the door was open at all times. Traced it to a fault door switch, replaced with this door switch. Worked well for about 2 weeks, now the vehicle thinks my door is closed all the time. So my accessories don't shut off when the key is off and I open my door.
