Fit 91 mustang get. At a glance these appear to be too long and the door won’t close. The brass shaft will slide through nut as the door closes and adjust itself accordingly.

I had prepared to remove the kick panel cover and all that jazz thinking that this was going to a PITA to replace. What was surprising is that literally just a 15mm deep well socket is all that is required to replace the door switch. There is enough room in the loom to pull it completely out, unplug the old one and plug in the new one. Then snug up the new switch and you are off and running! Sweet!

This switch worked great for my Buddy's truck. The only issue that he had was his original switch was held in by a rubber garment. With this which here it has a thread. It nut that screws into the door jam.We had to pull the rubber ground out and then take a wrench. And gently keep turning the nut over and over until we can get the thread to screw into the hole where the garment went. Once that's done you. Close the passenger door and the switch will preset how far it needs to go in the door for the light in order to work.

At first I thought I had ordered the wrong item as the stem extended well above the hex fastener section, making it way too long. But after looking closer and comparing it to the original one, I realized that the switch portion was a tight interference fit within the hex part and that it could be slid to the proper position. This is a very tight fit and it takes a good bit of force to move it. I adjusted it most of the way prior to installing and then allowed the closing of the door to perform the final positioning.Hint on installing the wires, feed the wire plug through the hole and connect it to the switch before installing it. Then rotate the assembly counter-clockwise 6-8 turns. Then install and the wires will end up with little to no twist and you don't have to snake your hand into some tiny metal opening to try and connect the wire harness.
