I took 1 star off due to the beaten up OEM product box; the part/gasket themselves were Ok. The shipping packaging and UPS delivery were good. The Part I received was made in Mexico; the look is very close to the Acura OEM part. After I removed original OEM part from 2004 Acura 3.5 RL, I cleaned up the 2 openings on the engine block and vacuum as far down as I could with a small vinyl tube, then install this part, check out YouTube videos. Scanned and erased the alarm code “12-4(P0404) Permanent DTC DTC-EGR control circuit range/performance”.My son has driven the car now for a few days; the engine light has not come back on. We crossed our fingers, but so far is very encouraging. Some people from YouTube and forums said the cost for car dealers to fix the problem is from $3K to 4K. Car dealers want to replace all oxygen sensors and fuel injectors, and this EGR valve/cleaning EGR passages of top valves cover etc...

A little apprehensive about going aftermarket on an emissions part, but so far after two months has been operating perfectly. Will update should something change down the road.

Exactly like the original , made in Japan (good ) , fits perfectly. Regretfully it did not fix the problem , on Acura cars with this code , insufficient gas recirculation ,most of the time the problem lies elsewhere, mainly due to the fact that passages leading to the valve are clogged, meaning that a qualified mechanic should remove the plenum ( intake manifold ) and thoroughly clean the passages . Expensive ? Yes.

The Standard Motor Products EGV527 EGR Valve is identical to the original OEM EGR Valve and works just as well. If you're getting the P0401 code and have always used quality premium fuel, this valve will fix that problem. And the best part is, the price.

Excellent customer service. Helen of the MidWay company helped me confirming the part at the web site and guided me through the process. The EGR works perfectly and the price is reasonable!Excellent overall!
