Old resistor went from a few speeds to none and melted wire harness. Replaced it along with the harness and I have full funtionality back... excellent.

I bought this part for my 2004 Silverado 2500. Installation was easy but I still cannot get speed number 5 to work for thre blower fan. This may be an issue with my truck but I have yet to determine that.

After several tries, I got this one to fit my 2004 Silverado LS Extended Cab. The others that were "exact fit" just wouldn't fit or wouldn't work properly, those were Dorman 973-405 and the BWD RU1064P. The Dorman fit, but I don't think is compatible with the CJ3 type HVAC panel in the 2004 since it only worked on level 5. The BWD wouldn't fit and you couldn't fit the OEM adapter on it.One note with installing this; you don't need to use the OEM adapter cover that is factory installed, this part has extra mounting holes that makes the adapter cover not required.

Purchased this resistor 10/10/10 for my 2005 Sierra, worked well until about a month ago. Pulled it out of the truck and found a wire in the resistor had burnt and broken. Would have hoped for a little longer life.
