I ordered this because me and my man travel a lottt and when we do activities I love to record but it’s too much of a hasssle with trying to angle and prop your phone up. This has been a lifesaver. It is small and easy to transport but also sturdy enough to sit and get the job done!

I received the "Starlink Mini Tripod Adapter, Aluminum Alloy Tripod Mount Adapter for Starlink Mini, 1/4"~20 Threaded Compatible with Original Pipe Adapter, Starlink Mini Accessories" -- which I shall henceforth call the "SLMTPA" -- in late January. I have a "StarLink Mini Antenna" which I have integrated into a "travel" kit. The biggest problem with the StarLink Mini is the need to manually align it with the Satellite Stream. Using their included "kickstand" this can be a real challenge. Their pole mount obviously, presents additional "mobility challenges."The SLMTPA turned out far better than I expected. Using a simple, unadjustable tripod, it made the alignment process relatively quick. The biggest challenge was needing "three hands" to perform the task: one to hold the antenna; one to manipulate the clamping system on the SLMTPA, and one to operate the Alignment App on the phone. The biggest undocumented "plus" for this device is that it will provide "Pan and Tilt" -- albeit over a somewhat limited range (See photo where adapter is at 50% of "tilt" range) -- for ANY device that you can mount on a 1/4"X20TPK threaded stud. This means you can use a simple tripod (with or without its own Pan and Tilt); you can use a fixed ground mount; you can use a vehicle mount; et cetera. The only requirements are that you get somewhere close to the correct positioning and that you have the correct size and type of mounting stud on whatever you plan to have support the adapter.Disadvantages1. Overall Pan and Tilt Range is more limited than you might find on a typical Camera Tripod.2. Requires three (hands) -- or two (2) people with 1.5 hands each.3. Requires the StarLink Pole Mount; if youve lost track of that, you'll need a new one.Advantages1. Simple and inexpensive.2. Will attach to anything that has a 1/4" X 20TPI stud for mounting purposes.3. Robust -- made of metal, not plastic.4. Provides its own Alignment Mobility.Bottom Line: Would I recommend this SLMTPA?Yes, albeit only for people with three (3) hands -- or a convenient place to set their phone while doing the alignment.
