This piece was just what I needed. Having been through three starters now, I decided to rebuild the last one. If you're replacing a starter in a Sea Doo, do yourself a favor, buy a used OEM starter. All of the new ones being offered are inferior. While you have the starter out of the ski, take it apart and replace the brushes with this kit, you'll thank me later. Another piece of advice; grease the teeth and place a fair amount of grease around the base of the starter where it will mount up to the ski. Many starters fail because water enters where the old rubber grommet just doesn't cut it anymore (Advice given to me by an old Sea Doo mechanic).Installed in a 1996 Sea Doo GTS (5817). Kit should work in any OEM Sea Doo starter for 587/620cc engines.

rebuilding the starter with these parts was easy, getting the starter out & back in was work, start to finish 3 hrs, but I am an old man, enough said.

This brush repair kit is exactly what the Dr. ordered to repair the starter on my 95 XP. It now works like brand new. Great item! As a side note. The folks at Crank & Charge are great if you have to deal with them.
