I bought three of these and found them to be incredibly valuable in putting down deck boards - especially if working by yourself. No need to snap a chalk line to mark the joists, just move these spacers down the boards as you go. Great when paired with a board-bending tool. Another reviewer has mentioned that the flanges on the wood side of the tool are a little too short - and I agree. It was workable, but if these flanges were lengthened a bit, it would make these spacers even better.

I bought these spacing tools for my deck rebuild.The crew used 3 Of them as they worked to install and space the new Cedar decking.Resulting in perfectly spaced deck boards, it looks amazing,! The tools were very easy to use and provided an arrow pointing to where the deck screws are placed.

Spaces your deck board screws evenly for a professional job. Has two different spacers, 3/16” for wood and 1/4” for composite. Excellent product.

This tool or jig if you will, is great for aligning your fasteners and spacing the deck board joints all in one. This jig saves you time when you’re setting down your deck boards and unlike similar plastic jigs is built to last.

This set was very helpful in resurfacing a ~500 sq ft deck with Timbertech grooved composite decking. Very durable.I'd give this 5-star, if:1) 1/8" tabs were the same length (depth) as 3/16". The 1/8" side tends to easily pop up, which is hard to see from the other end of the12-ft board. This causes nothing, but frustration and delays.2) One of them might have 3 pre-drilled holes for a composite decking (center + 3/4" from each side), instead of two for the wood.

Built a deck, 14x16 out of composite planking. Used these Plank Rite Steel Deck Spacing and Fastening Tools (2 pack) for board spacing and to maintain a clean screw pattern as each plank was laid. End result was straight rows of screw heads and a nice looking composite deck with even plank spacing. For the price, a nice looking deck surface was well worth it.

These are amazing for spacing your decks floor boards. There are other ways but being metal they dont deform over time for perfect spacing. The best part about them is they have holes to place the screws that are evenly spaced. No trying to align you screws by eye. I bought three of them because we were using 16 foot boards so that we could place one at each end and one in the middle. When you move on to the next board you just pop them out and your ready for the next one. Our deck looks fantastic.

Love the gaps that it leaves and my screw lines look amazing. Now that I have used them you could double the price and for the next deck I wouldn’t even mind. But they are built to last for many projects
