Torque sticks aren't mean to be fancy, but functional. I got this after getting a Thor v2 air impact and realized it was a little overkill for lug nuts, even on the lowest power setting. Working on exotic vehicles, this is obviously unacceptable. Using a torque stick allows me to snug the lugs close to torque spec and follow up with a proper torque wrench, ensuring the integrity of the lug nuts and customers vehicles.Recommended if you need one.

Im pretty consistant on my practices. After use I finish up with my torque wrench. Sometimes i get an 1/8th turn before click spmetimes 1/4.This is on the yellow 72ft/lbs. My torque wrench is set to 100ft/lbs.

I work in a shop and use this torque stick. When hooked up to my Cornwell impact it consistently tightens lug nuts very close to their torque spec. I've been using it for months and it is still accurate and has not broken on me yet.

One day I had a flat in my driveway and broke my tire lever trying to turn the lug nut. After that I bought a DeWalt impact gun so I wouldn't be stuck again. The nice thing about the torque stick is that when you put the wheels back on, you can use the gun without worrying about over tightening the lug nuts. I don't understand how it works, but it does and it's very handy.

Have been using for almost two years. Accurate. Case downs last long. If you need torque sticks, these do the job.

Finally wore out the store-bought torque stick I used every day in the trade for 10+ years (was still accurate but got loose over time and kept falling off my impact gun, very annoying) and so decided to start fresh with this unit. Used today for the first time and checked the torque with my Snap-On torque wrench after and this torque limiter is accurate to 100 ft. lbs. as advertised. I'm not crazy about the bleh colour on it but it is perfectly functional and it works. I expect to get many, many years out of this tool and if for whatever reason I need another one of a different capacity, I'll probably get another one from these guys.

Used this at work on a few cars the first day I got them. Found it to be accurate after checking with a torque wrench. And the price was right.

It makes no sense that a solid piece of metal like this can tighten to a specific torque value, right? These sticks work because of the nature of an impact wrench: As the resistance increases, your impact wrench applies force in taps. It doesn't apply continuous torque to the fastener, but instead it's a series of tapping motions. A torque stick will twist a certain amount. Once the fastener is tightened a certain amount, the torque stick will twist with each tap, absorbing any rotation which would otherwise twist the socket. It is important when using these to use directly on a socket, and it should be as short a socket as possible. Don't use it with a universal joint or other extension attached. Make sure the torque stick is fully inserted into the socket and that the impact wrench is fully inserted into the torque stick. One way to make sure it's working properly is to tighten a fastener, such as a lug nut, and watch what happens when the nut is tightened: You should be able to keep applying the impact wrench, but the socket will not turn. Now, as far as the product itself: Very impressive quality. Very solid build, each stick is color-coded and the torque value is well labeled. The case is excellent quality. Overall, excellent product which I recommend.

No more having to guess how much torque is needed when changing my tires, nor having to bust out the manual torque wrench. No issues with it.

Great tool. very useful not to over screw lug nuts if you know the exact torque you need to apply.

Bought this because I do a decent amount of car work. It's the appropriate torque for my lugnuts. Previously I have been using a torque wrench, but at the end of a project it's a pain to screw the lugnuts on, tighten them, drop the car a little (for front wheels), then torque them. It's not hard, but by that time I'm always ready to just put an end to whatever project I'm on.I was hesistant to get a torque limiting bar because I've heard they are innacurate. I've had to replace wheel studs before from accidental overtightening (I didn't break it!) and while it's not hard, it's not fun. Reviews on Amazon were favorable for this, though, so I decided to try it out. I will agree with other reviewers that this bar works well, and I can confirm (with torque wrench) that it's relatively accurate. I'm confident enough with it, at this point, to use it without rechecking torque anymore.
