Works great. Still working after a few months. I bought some headphones for my son's Xbox gaming, and I didn't realise I would need this adapter. Sound quality great :)

I’m not sure if this needed to be used with a specific brand of headphones, but we found that this adapter was difficult to attach to the controller and when it was finally secure, the headphone port felt a little janky. I was expecting a tighter fit for the headphones to help ensure that they don’t easily come unplugged, but that’s not the case with this particular adapter. I also found that the volume control did not seem to work properly for the headphones that we had plugged in which were not Turtle Beach brand. I’m not sure exactly what the problem is, but I think in this situation you’re better off going with the namebrand paying a little bit more so you can ensure quality of the build.

I really dig the added functionality of this device at the controller level. It works as expected, but it doesn't follow the lines of the controller in the same manner as the Microsoft branded one (which I didn't know existed until after getting this one).

This headset adapter is a utilitarian tool that performs its basic function admirably. The fit is secure, snapping firmly into the controller without a hint of wobble. It's a solid piece of hardware that shows a basic understanding of ergonomics. The omission of a white option is a glaring oversight, especially considering the popularity of the Xbox One S. It's a missed opportunity for aesthetic consistency. The ‘game’ and ‘scout’ audio modes offer a curious, if somewhat flawed, feature. While it’s commendable to provide options for audio customization, the implementation feels rough around the edges. The processing introduces a noticeable crackle, and the reduction of background noise can leave the audio landscape feeling barren. The integrated volume control is a stroke of genius. It’s a feature that should have been standard equipment on controllers years ago. No more digging through menus during intense gameplay. However, the adapter’s utility is hampered by its incompatibility with controller docking stations. This necessitates the constant removal and reattachment of the adapter, a process that can’t be good for the longevity of either component. Finally, the backlit buttons are a baffling design choice. Not only is the green backlight jarringly out of place on the controller, but it’s also entirely superfluous. This is a piece of functionality in search of a problem to solve.

I really wanted to like this and was excited to have this on my Xbox controller. It fits well and it looks great, it's comfortable to use and extends the features on your controller to access the mic and volume. It even has multiple modes to choose from, all great stuff! However, the sound quality is awful! It makes it drastically worse unless you turn it down to around 20-33% of the Headset volume. Unfortunately, I know it's the device because I have a similar one on my other controller which I tested the same headset on, I also swapped it onto the other controller to make sure it wasn't that. Not only this, I tried a second headset with the exact same issue and to make sure I went through everything, I even dug out a different, brand new 3.5mm wire. So despite the other device working, two headsets working on two different controllers and two separate 3.5mm wires, I think I can put it down to the adapter itself. I tried all modes, different sound levels, microphone on and off and basically went through everything I could think of. Lastly, I tried different games and different videos. It's possible I had a defective unit, it is tiny but I can only review what I had and unfortunately the sound was so bad it sounded like the speakers had been popped (they hadn't) with crackling, stuttering and crunchy noise. I wanted this to work so much, if it had it would have been a great addition and looks really nice when it lights up green. At £21.99 I think it would be priced fairly if it worked properly but unfortunately, it didn't. A real shame.

This is easy to use and about as plug an play as you can get. I use this for my headphones and it really helps me adjust the volume on the fly while I'm gaming without having to go to a pause menu. I was worried there would be signal degradation resulting in poorer sound quality because the audio is now passed through an additional device, but luckily this has no such issues, and delivers very clean and clear audio with no humming, hisses or crackling noises.I think this is very much worth the asking price and very useful for the competitive gamer who needs clean communication.

This works as expected but I have one issue with it. I don't know if it's normal for devices like this but in order to switch between headphones and TV audio, I need to completely remove the adapter. Removing just the headphone jack is not enough. Maybe my fault but it would've been nice to know. I ordered this to continue playing games after my family went to bed. It doesn't take much to swap but it would be nice to just plug in or unplug and go. It is otherwise sleek and stylish with the green color matching XBox's classic colors. Overall, I'm happy with it and will use it despite having to plug in the entire headset adapter each evening I play.

This Charm Focus headset adaptor for Xbox doesn't feel that solidly built straight from the box but feels much better when you clamp it onto the controller because it's tailor-made for the standard controllers and clicks into place very securely. A bit too securely if you recharge your controllers on a stand because you'll have to prise it off again, but you can't have everything. It solves one annoying issue with the Xbox, that if you want to alter the headset or microphone volumes you have to dig through onscreen menus to find the controls and that interrupts gameplay. With your headset attached to this gadget you can alter the volume and mute the mic without taking your eyes off the screen, so big tick in that box.Unfortunately it doesn't stop there and tries to get a bit clever with an inbuilt mic (which is terrible and you should never use) and a sound processing option that makes things sound worse. If you keep things simple it's great and very handy. However, if you need to keep removing it from your controller I doubt it will take that much stress, it's limpet-like once it's in place. Useful but with reservations....

This fits my controller nice. I needed to wiggle it a bit to get it in, but that's to be expected when you have two connectors (usb c and headset) going in the same time. It fits tight to the controller and seems sturdy enough. I didn't realize how dirty my controller was until I took that photo. Yikes!
