This is one of those tools that does exactly what it says, and does it well. The thing is that it’s not exactly meant as a permanent solution. Incidentally, ever wonder how they put the little plastic fasteners into the packages of socks? Or price tags? A tool very much like this. This one excels at pinning together several layers of fabric in preparation for serging or seam sewing.

I'm always looking for a quick fix in an outfit for my kiddos or myself, without having to dig up needles and thread. Thread. I came across this and it's genius! I don't know why I thought the stitch would be actual thick thread, but it's the plastic material that you usually get attached to your clothes with tags. The plastic itself is very short so it kind of does the trick of a stitch. It's fairly easy to put together and all you have to do is put the needle through and press the handle. It's worked really well on my toddler's hands. He's tall for his age but extremely skinny so it helped take in his pants an inch and held throughout the day. Not a permanent fix, definitely a quick one and very useful.

I took off a star because the description mentioned sewing and hemming and while it does work the problem is when I tried hemming the pants leg of my denim pants it did not hold the folded material tightly together like you would have when doing regular sewing with a needle and thread.Being not held tightly together is not a super big deal with my denim work pants as long as they hold up for a long time and does not come loose after so many washings, I won't know that I would be satisfied until after several months of the pants going thru the washing machine and dryer. If nothing else it can be a big help as quick emergency fix.

This handheld Stitch Gun is very easy to use. You load the stitcher gun on the top with the stitches that came in the kit - pointy end goes into the gun. You'll hear a faint "click" when you press them in far enough.Once the gun is loaded, you press the needle through your material, firmly pull the trigger and pull the needle back out. What's left behind looks like an extremely short version of those plastic things that hold price tags on clothing. (see pics). For instance, my son's jacket has a bungee that tightens around the waist. One of the ends of the bungee came loose and so I threaded it back through the hole and secured it along the seam with this stitcher gun.I assumed it would be a temporary fix but 2 weeks later, it's still holding strong. I've fixed seams on dog toy and dog beds, greatly extending their usefulness.Notes:- Use a thimble to avoid hurting yourself. The needle is very sharp.- Delicate fabrics might get damaged by this tool because the needle is rather large.I have found this to be very handy around the house. 5 stars.

This gun is used to put price tags or similar on clothing or other stuff like rugs or drapes. I didn't realize that when I got it but I still have a good use for it. I work nights and have blackout curtains in my room to block the sun when I sleep during the days. I used this to 'stitch' the curtains to stay closed and block more light. I used to use small nails and thumb tacks to hold them together or to the walls, but with this it lets me stitch them together or to themselves around the tie back to keep the light from creeping in around the edges. Works fine for this and it would work fine to attach tags or even keep a pair of bath mats together, like when they sell them at the home store.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't figure out how to use this AT ALL! It's not simple and easy, and every time I try, I end up with a mess.

This will be great to have on hand to take care of stitching your garments if you are in need. It is smaller than expected, and not the most quality perhaps in durability but it will be fine I hope. The main concern is that I don't see anywhere where it says that you can order more of the needed attachments or "staples" when you run out. It does have a significant amount of course, but after they are gone, I don't know where you would buy more. So, this device really will only be good for emergency needs and long term needs, I feel.

The stitch gun is made entirely of plastic, and holds several stitch "staples" at once. This fixed all the tears in my fabrics, including cotton, jeans, and microfiber material. You will want to practice on a piece of cloth before you use this however, but once you get the hang of it, you can stitch any tear that needs fixing. Great for small jobs!
