It fits my stovetop perfectly. It is thick enough to protect it. I very rarely use my stove as I have a single burner induction cooktop which I use pretty much for cooking everthing. It sits on my stove and occasionly would spatter. Now the top is protected and I can use it for counter space for family gathering buffets.
