This was a perfect replacement for rebuilding my 1974 Motobecane. What arrives is not whats pictured - Instead you get a correct 5 speed in silver. Which is perfect for my needs..

Used this to replace the freewheel of an old bike. Was happy to find a replacement online and I think the price was good: $18. Has worked well. The old bike rides well with it's new freewheel and chain.

The freewheel started chipping after a 50 minute ride on mainly flat ground. I cycled through the rear gears to make sure everything was in working order during a short test ride, then again several times while on flat terrain. The freewheel cogs seem to be cheaply made as they have significant chips in them after a very light ride. Maybe a manufacturers defect, not sure...either way, it is getting returned.

Fit right on my 1985 Specialized Stumpjumper, feels like an exact replacement for the original freewheel. Looks pretty well-made. It shifts (friction shifting only- all old school) and it rides fine- doesn't jump or jam. I paired this with a new "KMC Z33 NP Chain 5/6 Speed 1/2" x 3/32" x 116L Nickel Plated" specifically labelled for non-indexing use, new Shimano idler pulleys on the rear derailleur and a new set of Sugino chainrings. Replacing "everything the chain touches" was recommended to me repeatedly and I'm glad I did- it feels like it's 1985 again... sorta. I'll beat the heck out of it, see if it holds up, and report back here in a few months.

I used this to replace a 5 speed freewheel I bought from the local bike shop to replace the original freewheel on my bike that was sticking (not freewheeling). The freewheel I bought at the bike shop was a sunlite, they had no other brand, it would skip when i was in the highest gear no matter what adjustment I made to the rear derailleur, I even replaced the chain a week later. When I removed the sunlite freewheel to replace it I noticed the teeth on the highest gear was worn down. Since replacing it with the sunrace freewheel I have not any problems, my bike shifts gears and does not skip in any of the gears. The sunrace looks to be made of much higher quality materials. I would definitely recommend the sunrace over the sunlite freewheel. I would also recommend replacing the chain and freewheel at the same time to be safe.
