Exspensive as hell , installed made it a total of 30 miles at the most , right back to binding up , new part was no good waste of my time and money and they don't want to warrenty the genuine subaru part because it took me a few weeks to have it installed while I waited for other nessasary parts. So now I've spent 540 some dollars on a paper weight essentially and have to find another one from somebody else

Way cheaper then trying to go to Subaru to buy. From all what I can see is a genuine Subaru part. The replacement was an evening job and since then everything works like it should.

Not necessarily the best price I found for this part, but with prime shipping and delivery available at 8:30 on a Sunday night, I was sold. Had to have the car back together to go back to work Monday. Not a difficult repair, but not for the novice either. I waited until my clutch went out to replace this part, that way I could replace the diff with the trans out of the car. Idk how much easier that made it, but it sure made cleaning off those mating surfaces on the trans case easier. Make sure you get ultra gray, or Subaru's equivalent, or Hondabond, whatever. I had some Hondabond left over and used that. No leaks whatsoever. Fill back up with 75W-90.

Part fits as described, I installed it in a 2002 Subaru Impreza wrx wagon. So far no problems, the sound clunking coming when making turns it’s gone. I will recommend this part to anyone that has that problem with center differential.

I bought this because my 2009 Subaru Outback MT was making a loud popping noise when making sharp turns, but only after the car had warmed up after 20+ minutes of driving. My car was also making a loud wining noise on acceleration and deceleration, even when it was in neutral. Had this put on and I also needed a gasket and a thrust washer but those are fairly cheap parts. This fixed the noises that have been haunting me for months and even though the cost of the part and labor to put it on set me way back financially, I at least have piece of mind that it's finally fixed. If the symptoms I described above sound EXACTLY like what your car is doing, then it is most likely your center differential and not your CV axles or ball joints or whatever. If someone who isn't intimate with Subaru's or isn't a mechanic at a Subaru dealership tries to tell you otherwise, it's probably because they don't know what you're talking about. I called half a dozen garages trying to get one of them to replace it for me and they had no idea what I was talking about. One garage acted like they did, but after having my car all day I went to pick it up to find out they actually didn't know how to do the job. I know this has digressed from a product review to something you'd read on a Subaru forum, but I had a lot of trouble getting this diagnosed and I should have just went to the dealership to begin with and if I can help save someone else the money and the anxiety then I would be thrilled to do so.

I am from Peru. When my differential start failing, I went to a Subaru dealer and asked for it. The price was 1700 USD + taxes.I quickly looked for over the internet and found the best price in Amazon (460USD).It took less than 4 days to arrive from Colorado to a cousin's hotel that was on vacations in Texas. So on his way back to Peru he brought it for free.
