The Suburban SAW6DEL was the perfect replacement for the no longer available Atwood GC6AA-10E (Gas/Electric) 6 gallon water heater, for my 2014 Jayco Whitehawk 23BH. Door from hold water heater fit perfectly. Mounting holes and water supply lines lined up too. No modifications needed. You do not need to replace the power switches that are often recommended (or "required"). I used the existing gas and electric switches. If you have basic wiring skills, you should have no problems.

Bought the wrong one, but they replaced with no issue. Great to work with!

Unit came dented on trime. picture shows complete unit comes without door. Also no drain besides pulling out anode Rod. Wire schmatic not correct for the atwood replacement. Frame bent and had to caulk every spot on it that butal tape didnt cover.

Atwood aluminum tank split. Probably could of replaced tank but prefer the heavy steel tank. Rather have a pipe bust than the tank. Cut Connector off Atwood and reused it. Reused hot and cold pex connections. They screwed right in with new Teflon tape. Works great, had hot water in minutes.

Perfect fit in the rv. Same hookups for water. Works like it should.

This arrived in the factory box but was not packed well enough for shipping. There should be an insert in the front to protect the sheet metal when the water heater is inevitably dropped while bouncing around from warehouse to truck. Because I was on a tight schedule I straightened the bent sheet metal and installed it. The inlet and outlet apparently are not tapered threads so it took quite a bit of Teflon tape to seal them. On the positive side, my old Dometic door works fine on the new one and the heater heats like it should. The colors of the wires are not the same as my Dometic heater that I was replacing but I had the old manual so it wasn't hard to figure out.

I'm happy with this water heater. Heats up fast and water stays warm for a long time. Not sure about the electric heating element yet as I think my switch is bad. Will update after replacing my switch.

Installation went well considering the tight space that I had to work in. My complaint is that the product description on line didn’t make clear that the old door from my existing heater would fit so I ordered a new door that I didn’t need. Hopefully I can return it for a full refund 🤞🤞
