This is a great hat. It is a good cross between an old school bucket hat and a wider brimmed sun hat. The brim is a bit wider in the rear and a good narrow shape on the side and front. The brim is good and stiff with the foam sewn in. The sizing feature inside is a great touch to allow for a looser or tighter fit depending on your needs.

Finally a non floppy great looking hat that is size adjustable and half the price of a TIlley. If you are looking for this style hat, this is the one!

This had is incredibly well designed. What I like best is the the brim is firm and can be molded the way you want and does not flop around. My head is 58 cm so I ordered M. There are five slots on the inside to pull and secure an adjustment strap. I pulled mine the attached it to the secone of five slods and is fit a bit tighted on my head. I just went out in a strong noon day sun and it shaded my head completely. I have tried many sun hads nd this is by far the best. It came earlier than expected in a box large enough to encase the brim and there was no damage to the brim at all. Get this one. You will not be disappointed.

This Charter Escape hat was a disappointment. I was hoping it would be light and airy like my Sunday Afternoons Cruiser hat. It was not, rather more heavy like a Tilley LTM5. I am not a fan of summer or humidity. Not a fan of hats either but I have to wear one for sun or mosquitoes. I can tell within a few minutes if a hat is going to steam me up. This hat felt more warm than my Tilley LTM5. Within two minutes sitting indoors in the AC, I could feel my head sweating up. My Tilley Air-Flo is better but not hugely better. The SA Cruiser leaves me significantly less sweaty. The Cruiser is the winner here for those that sweat just thinking about summer. I'm talking shade use here for woods or evening walking. With direct blazing sun, the heavier material of the Charter or Tilley LTM5 protects from cooking the top of your head even though the air flow is more stifling. Tilley gets the edge here with the styrofoam pad. There were quality issues with my Charter hat that bugged me big time. The chin strap holes are not symmetrically placed when the seam is centered to the rear and the natural oval is comfortable on the head. The right side hole is about 3/4" more close to the front of the hat. A normal person might not even notice this but I can't stop obsessing about it. I did find another review that mentioned this so I'm not the only one. The sunglass holes are shifted also by a similar amount although the crown eggs shape points forward properly. So my glasses are looking slightly left while I'm looking straight ahead, lol. Again, a normal person would not notice. I don't find the sunglass holder all that useful anyway. It's awkward to get glasses in the holes, I have to take the hat off or do a lot of fumbling to make that happen. I prefer the adjuster style on the SA Cruiser too, easy to adjust while the hat is on your head. I returned this and got another color Cruiser. If you are looking for something similar to the LTM5, this hat is pretty close in style at half the price. The sand color is nice too. Like a wet sand, more casual looking. It is more stylish than the Cruiser but too warm for me and my particular hat was not lined up when sewn.

This is a great hat, nice feature that it hold sunglasses in place and has venting and adjustable cord to secure the hat. My husband loves it, he has a small head and face and the smaller bill is perfect for him. It adjusts easily for head size. My only concern is that he has had it for a few weeks now and it simply does not lay flat because of the way it was shipped. Maybe I'll try steaming it.

Being a golfer I was concerned if this hat would work for me. I measure 22 5/8 inches (57 1/2 cm). Allowing a little room for comfort - my normal hat size is 7 3/8 (59 cm). The medium size fits perfect and can be further adjusted with their elastic hook system in their hat sweat band. I golf a couple times a week and sometimes it gets very windy. I opted to change their hat chin strap system into a trooper style (back of the head tightening system) as seen in my picture. If I don’t need the extra tightness - I adjust the slide very loose and if I need the extra tightness - I tighten it as needed. I played the other day in 20 mph winds without any problems. Additionally, I purchased a 1 inch magnetic coat button - put some double sided tape on it - and inserted it into their sunglass slot to hold my ball marker as the brim is not stiff enough to support a slide-on magnetic ball marker. Now I have the perfect golf hat. FYI: I also own a Tilley LTM5 - and the quality is every bit as good - at half the price.

Love this hat! It is described as a Men's hat but I bought it on the chance that a Medium would fit me and it fits like a glove. I plan on wearing it for hiking. I love that the brim isn't overly large, that it has venting in the crown, that it has a adjustable, under the chin cord to keep it on your head in windy conditions and that it has an adjustable fit. It is obvious a lot of thought went into the design. It is just a little classier looking that a bucket hat, which I also like. Don't be put off by the designation of "Men's Hat" as a Medium size in this hat fits this woman with a fairly small head just fine. As a plus, it looks great too.

No complaints here. Medium size was just spot on for my 59cms head. Unlike some other reviewers, my hat arrived flat in a large box so it wasn't crushed, folded up or misshapen at all. Brim size is perfect, not too big and hat is very light and comfortable. Well worth the money. It looks good too !

This hat provides full, cool coverage and minimizes sun glare. The functionality is very useful - from the adjustable headband, to the hidden pocket up top. The hat doesn’t mind traveling or being packed either. It maintains its shape after numerous trips to the beach and in the water; and after being in and out of the suitcase. It’s easy to care for and oil/lotion stains have not been an issue with this hat. The only issue is that my ears are too big so I had to tuck’em up and under:). Still a very comfortable and useful hat.
