About this item

  • ✔ Reduces Food Leftover and Avoids Bullying --- Using the SunGrow Fish Feeding Rings is an easy and efficient way to minimize dropping of leftover food and discourage bullying amongst your fish. Keeping the food in a certain area restricts extra flakes and pellets from scattering and getting pulled into the water filter. Giving your fish separate feeding spots, bully fish can't hog all the rings and your timid fish can eat in peace.
  • ✔ Keeps Fish Tanks Clearer for Longer --- Instead of sprinkling the fish food all across the top of your aquarium, the floating feeder gives food a specific area of its own. By placing food directly into the SunGrow Feeding Rings, there is less loose food roaming around the tank. Fewer pieces of wayward food mean a clearer tank and less maintenance.
  • ✔ Durable Product Goes Inside the Tank --- All of the materials used in crafting the set of 2 Fish Food Feeders are innocuous to your aquatic pets. The black plastic frames and included suction cups are long-lasting, durable, and odorless. These materials are suitable for both freshwater and saltwater habitats. The Square plate is the bigger one with 4-inch (10 cm) length and the round plate has a 2-inch diameter (5.5 cm), so you can use them according to your need.
  • ✔ Perfect for All Floating Fish Food --- The pair of SunGrow Feeding Rings are specially designed for floating food only, as sinking food will not stay within the frames for very long. All sorts of floating foods can be put into the floating feeders where they will remain until your fish are ready to eat. Flakes, granulars, pellets and leaves are just a few of the many suitable fish foods.
  • ✔ Great for Many Species of Aquatic Pets --- Goldfish, guppies, catfish, tetras, mollies, and danios are just a few of the many fish that will eat from the convenient fish food feeders. In particular, territorial fish such as bettas and cichlids benefit from having their own area to feed from. Other aquatic pets like water turtles, shrimp, crayfish, and African dwarf frogs can also use the floating feeder rings.

Product Description

Clears out Space without Affecting your Floating Plants!

Create a lively aquaspace with your favorite floating plants because these do not obstruct either the view or the feeder. Thus, your fish has a clear space to feeding and allows them to breathe in the open area.

Control Portions and Keep the Food Longer!

The transparent disk lets you know whether the fish feeder needs a refill or if there is enough food for the day. Please note if your tank hood has just a tiny opening for feeding, then the ring or square may not end up in a convenient place relative to the opening in the hood since the ring/square sticks out a couple of inches from the suction cup attaching it to the side of the tank.

Restrain Fish from Being Bullies!

Fill one square fish feeder and allow your more aggressive fish to dash over to eat. Once they are occupied, add floating fish food to a second feeding square for the timider fish. This is, therefore, an ideal way to observe and bond with your fish community.

No More Clogged Filter!

These are pretty handy for feeding in tanks with a lot of movement at the water surface. The only time it may not work is if you have the water level high enough that you don't have dry glass to stick it to. Since the food stays inside the ring, it helps in keeping both the aquarium and your filter clear.

Worry, your tank filter is taking away the food before your fish is full? Not anymore

Quick Solution to Fish Feeding Problems

Practical and effective, the SunGrow Fish Feeder Rings solve all of the common fish feeding problems. Loose, uneaten food scattered about your aquarium is unattractive and can create issues if it gets stuck in your water filter or pump. Without the floating feeders, fish food could get caught up in strong water current before your fish even has a chance to eat it. The feeder rings also solve the issue of bullying fish and finicky fish.

How To Use the Feeding Rings

  1. The Square plate is the bigger one with a 4-inch (10 cm) length and the round plate has a 2-inch diameter (5.5 cm), so you can use them according to your aquarium size.
  2. Determine the best position for your floating fish food feeders. If you have a large tank, we recommend placing each dish at the opposite ends of the tank.
  3. Clear and dry the glass and the surface of the suction cup for any dust to ensure a secure stick. Dry the surface thoroughly and ensure that the surface is without any moisture.
  4. Set the feeder just an inch above the water line.
  5. Press the suction clip gently against the glass inside aquarium to squeeze the air out.
  6. Allow feeding rings to float atop the water and settle into place.
  7. Sprinkle your pellets, flakes or other floating fish food directly into the inner circle (or square) of the feeding ring.

Floating and Rotating Design

Specially designed to contain floating fish food, the Circle and Square Feeding Rings from SunGrow features suction cup suspension and automatic repositioning. The lightweight, buoyant plastic feeders always stay afloat and automatically move up and down with the water levels. Between the secure suction cup and the feeding ring is a rotating rod. This allows the floating feeders to bounce gently along with the water flow.

SunGrow Pro-tip: Fill the first ring with food so the more aggressive fish rush to eat. Then fill the second ring with food for your shy fish or specialty food for picky eaters.

I like it but often the food floats to the edge and gets stuck on a little plastic part that keeps the fish from getting it or even seeing it at all.

This item works how it’s supposed to. Maybe my fish is the problem. She won’t eat anything I put in this ring. Suction works great and the ring stays put to keep the food from floating all over the tank.

The suction cup doesn't stick well, so it ends up floating around the tank surface. But it holds the food as it floats, so I'm ok with it.

I’ve only used the floating square ring, but it works well to create a feeding space without duckweed in our betta tank. The way I use the suction cup is different than intended, but is needed if you want it in the corner. I purchased it for a vacation to pair with an automatic feeder “bettamatic” which worked best for dispensing a few of the pellets we used already. Our tank is the marineland portrait 5 gallon tank.

I was excited to try these in my new tank because the filter was pushing my betta's food around. I installed these right where the opening in the tank lid is and it lined up well. That's the end of the good.I noticed after the 2nd day that it prevented the water from moving at all within the ring. The surface of the water would get kinda gross each day. Not a big deal overall, just lift it up and let it move. The dealbreaker was the loss of a substantial part of my betta's tail fin. Yes, it was my fault for not noticing before putting it in the ring. The area where the ring was connected to the plastic "line" that was attached to the suction cup has a gap in it. This gap has sharp edges on both sides of the bottom. Exactly where a fish is going to swim to get into the ring. This might work for others, but in my tank (5 gallons) it did not. There would be no viable way to file the edges down either.
