We needed a PCI-E serial card to work in CentOS 7. Initially, we picked StarTech PEX2S553. Although the device driver was built successful in CentOS 7, the kernel had to be rebuilt in order for the device driver to recognize the PEX2S553. Then we selected this card. The device driver for SUNIX SER6437A could be easily built in CentOS 7. In contrast to PEX2S553 case, the loaded device driver could detect SER6437A and assigned device names in /dev/ without any problem.
