I bought the Medium because it says 46 lbs, but it weighed in at 49 lbs. Their website says tolerance of +- 5lbs, so I guess it's fine.It seems perfect for me. It is extremely sturdy and looks like it will be just what I need.

It's expensive, but it's worth it. The dummy seems to be very well built. I have been throwing it and beating on it for about 8 months and it still looks like new. Definitely much better than all the other throwing dummies on the market, particulatly the fill-them-yourself models. My only quibble is that, like all the others, and contrary to at least some of the pictures that accompany the ads, the legs are close together, thus making a whole set of throws difficult, and the arms point towards the center, which also makes a variety of throws more difficult and awkward at best.

Positive: I was extremely impressed with the exceptionally fast delivery. As a coach, I had previously seen Suples dummies at a judo clinic I had attended and was impressed with the quality compared to most of the other manufactured dummies on the market. The dummy arrived very nicely packaged and even came in a storage bag that was a pleasant surprise. I found that most dummies on the market are either too soft (don’t stand up for throwing) or are too stiff and feel like you’re throwing a body in rigor mortis. The softer and more flexible Suples Speed Dummy has the most natural feel of dummies I’ve encountered for judo throwing practice.Negative: The proportion size of the dummy that arrived is considerably bigger than what their website indicated. Their website indicated that the XS Speed Dummy is 52in tall and my son is 49in tall, so I ordered the XS anticipating he would have a little room to grow with it. However, the dummy I received is significantly taller than my son and the arms are above his ears when both are stand up, so this makes most of his throwing exercises unnaturally awkward. This is way too big for a dummy that is advertised as being 3in taller than my son!I’m not sure if the Suples dummies are just bigger than what they indicate or if the one I received was accidently mislabeled.Fortunately, I was able to take it over to the club, so the older judoka kids can practice on it. Unfortunately, I purchased this dummy for my son to train with at home and he really can’t use it.Conclusion, I would have given a 5-Star review, but because I saved and spent $360 on a dummy that my son needs to grow into for a couple more years. Otherwise, the quality is great, but just a lot of money spent for something he can’t utilize now.
