This camera is very good. It’s well made and easy to attach it to your telescope. Just put it in the lens tube and use it like a lens. However, the focus is not very good. I took a shot of the moon (above) You can see, it didn’t focus as much as I expected.

Reviews on this camera were mixed but I thought I would give it a try. I have an Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope with a tracking mount and I was hoping to use this so I wouldn’t have to squint into an eyepiece all the time. Unfortunately, other than the fact that it has wifi capabilities it has nothing else to recommend it. The field of view is so small that the only object I could ever get into focus reliably was the moon. I thought it might be a fun lower cost camera to view planets. I managed to get Jupiter in the field of view once but it is just a super bright blob. I think another reviewer posted a photo of Jupiter on screen that demonstrates the over-bright display and lack of details. Attempting to focus on anything else, even the Orion nebula, simply didn’t work, even when I used a focal length reducer. The company promotes this as an Electronically Assisted Astronomy camera but it just does not work like they claim. I am returning it.

Usually Svbony it one of my favorite goto for astronomy optics and equipment. This one has a hiccup with setting up on my(just My unfortunately)iPhone 15pro. All other iPhones including my wife’s seem to connect up fine . With mine still unable to establish a connection or function properly. Try I will including multiple contacts with Svbony and even phone support no success. Svbony even said that they are stumped and haven’t seen this before. Hope they come out with fix or update soon. This is very frustrating. Not like Svbony to get to the root of problems.Update: 8/20/24. I wanted to complement and publicly Thank SVbony Customer Service and support For their diligence And relentless attempts at resolving my problem. Not Only do they Manufacture excellent products, but they provide the best customer service around. After many attempts ,as I have stated before, To try to Help me fix my problem with this camera They were kind enough to replace the camera entirely without problem. I highly recommend SVbonys quality and superior optical And astronomical equipment With their Outstanding customer Service as well.

I got this camera because I wanted to use it with Celestron nexstar evolution scope. So far I have only used DSLR cameras and I wanted something dedicated to planetary photography. The first thing I noticed is that this won’t work well with electronic and WiFi assisted mounts because you will need to be jumping from one WiFi network to the other to use both the mount and the camera with the phone. Since it has not ports to connect cables, you cannot re-purpose it to work with other devices and the app is very limited in what it can do.I tested it with my old dobsonian after that and I realized this is a good intro camera for the casual manual dobsonian observer or someone with a mount that does not use WiFi. I was able to take video of Jupiter while I was manually tracking it with the finder scope. I loved that I didn’t have to worry much about looking at my phone, I just needed to follow the planet slowly. I did the same just taking pictures. In the end I separated the video frames and stacked the best frames to get a nice image. I have done this before with a DSLR and a barlow but this was much easier with this camera as everything saved on the camera memory and on my phone which is connected to my computer where I could grab the file and start working on it.The camera itself doesn’t have the greatest chip or app, I would only recommend it to people who mostly observe with manual scopes and want to easily take some pictures or video. If Svbony makes the app better to do things like live stacking or at least stacking directly on the app and adds a port to physically connect the camera to a computer if needed, they could have a great product here since nobody else is doing Astro cameras with their own WiFi yet.

This camera was easy to set up wifi and using. Charging is a breeze, of course. push button and it is working. The USB port can be used with windows software. works with Android easily. the exposure is set to max 1 second, so not usable for deep space. To get the picture of Jupiter, had to set the gain from 200 to as low as possible. Has manual photo and video controls.

I love this camera. I struggled initially, because as you can see the moon is just a piece. That was with a f/l 1500 Mak. I tried extenders and star diagonal and then used the camera with my f/l 900 Refractor - I still didn't get the full moon. I ended up getting the SVBony Mini Guide scope 40mm and it works perfect for astro and terra. Jupiter was so washed out by the sun that I got no color, even with my eyepieces, but nice clarity with the moons. The software is not bad to work with, but I just use the Auto setting for now. I have to clarify - I am a BEGINNER at astronomy, and I know NOTHING about photography. So if you put the two of those together, I think it's a pretty cool little camera.
