About Swagman
"Ride, paddle, explore: seek your adventure"
That philosophy was the intention of founders Jim and Jan Morris who saw an opportunity to create a better way to transport your bike back in the early 90’s. Swagman was one of the first companies worldwide to design and market a hitch style bike rack. Over the years, that small bike rack company based in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia grew to include numerous other ground breaking designs in the North American Bicycle, RV and Automobile markets.

Ssems like a good set up. Installation wasn’t hard except that the metal ring doesn’t fit the way the pictures indicated. Installing it on the left side of the swagman bicycle rack doesn’t work because the washers don’t fit Installing it on the right side results in a lot of extra space between the hitch and the bolt. So for now it is installed on the left side without the washers. The cable doesn’t seem like the best idea because they can now be clipped with a specific tool that is advertised on YouTube. . So I’m planning to buy a different lock and an alarm. At least once someone tried to steal my bike off of the rack which is why I bought this locking hitch pin.

I bought this, used it once and returned it.To use this you have to put your bike in the bike rack, run the cable through your bike wheels, etc and THEN get down on the ground, behind the rack to slide on the small end of cable to the back of the hitch pin and add the lock. Then you get to your destination and you have to get back down on the ground and get between the rack and the hitch to open the tiny lock cover, insert the key and remove the lock from the end of the pin so that you can remove the cable from your bike and get the bike(s) off of the rack.Look at the photos and think about how you'd use this and you'll see it's not convenient at all.

This lock works and the anti-rattle feature is great. The cable is long enough to secure two bicycles to the rack.Definitely recommend.

Fits DK2 490 2 inch hitch bike carrier. Add oil to thread it on slowly the first time and it gets smoother after. The lock end is different from the picture. It is covered in full plastic and has flat keys which I like since you don’t have to perfectly line up key hole. I also like that the bolt longer since you can’t pop out the lock by just unscrewing the bolt. The cable is just a deterrent. I use a second Kryptonite lock on my bikes as well.

This appears to be a decent product. Our family does not keep a rack on the car all year and I bought a rack to get the families bikes out camping or to the mountains a couple times a year. Figured it would also be nice to be able to lock them up while on the car and stopped over. This item will work fine.Lots of reviews complaining that it does not fit. The 5/8" bolt is for the larger rack. I have the Swagman XTC4 and it fits fine. If you only have a 2 bike rack like the XTC 2 then be sure to order the 1/2" bolt to avoid disappointment.

I know this was meant as an anit-wobble device for a bicycle rack (which we did use it for that when we traveled) but we also used this as an anti-theft device for our two bikes and our two kayaks and locked them altogether to our rv bumper at night when we traveled. Worked great!

Needs to be used specifically with a Swagman threaded product. I had to rig up a larger nut with a piece of metal so I could slide this into a hitch receiver I have. I also don't believe it's exactly 5/8 thread. If it was I could by another insert. Would be great if swagman also made a receiver insert you could buy. The cable is a great cable.
