These so far work very well. My husband likes them for attaching legs on furniture that he is making for the grandchildren. He says he wouldn't use them on something that was heavier but for the grandkids little furniture and items they play with these inserts are great.

Very bad quality. The thread are damaged so bolts do not screw in.

The Swpeet 122Pcs Carbon Steel Screw in Nut Threaded Wood Insert Kit seems like a pretty good value. I'll know better after I have a chance to use them. My initial review expresses my disappointment with the condition of the plastic case which leaves me looking for a storage alternative. The case is cracked, has a broken hinge and some of the divider guides damaged. Needless to say the fasteners were a jumbled mess.Update - After giving them a try I am satisfied with the quality of the screw-in nuts. I tested four different drill bit sizes and here is what I found: Both an 11/32 and a 23/64 bits works for the 1/4-in threaded nuts. Either a 29/64 or 15/32 works for the 5/16-in nut. The smaller of each pair requires due effort to drive them in. I found all of these hole sizes provides a very strong hold. I used bits from a Steelex D1034 Deluxe 25 piece Brad Point Bit set with bits in 1/64 increments ranging from 1/8 to 1/2 inch. I had no problem driving the nuts straight after first drilling straight holes using a drill press. In lieu of a drill press I suggest using a drill guide.I purchased the DUOFIRE 18 grid Plastic Organizer Container Storage Box to replace the broken case shipped. However, the hex wrenches do not fit in these boxes and some nuts required more than one compartment.I'm still going with the 3 star rating.UPDATE - If your project requires significant torque in tightening down a 3/16 screw, use the smaller drill bit size and after using several of the 3/16 inserts I’m raising My rating from three to four stars.

I am very happy with how these are working on my latest project. If you have previously had trouble with wood inserts, give these a try.I used another brand of wood inserts for a prior build. They were a nightmare. The slots for a screwdriver or tool were useless; the tool just spun out. I then used two nuts on a long bolt to get the inserts started, which worked a little better. But I still had trouble getting them started threading into the wood. Sometimes they went in at an angle. Sometimes the threads dug wood from the inside of the hole, so the insert wouldn't stay in. I thought it was the wood I was using (hard maple) or I was just terrible at fitting inserts. For my current build, I am using walnut. When I tried my old inserts on scraps of walnut, I ran into the same problems.I tried these, mostly because I thought I might need more inserts, and they were not expensive. They went in like a dream! Maybe it is because they are longer. Maybe because the outside threads are thicker. Maybe because they have a hex relief in the top, allowing you to use a hex socket and ratchet to install them. The truth is, I don't care WHY they work so well, I am just happy to know there are inserts available that I can use without worrying I will screw up some fine-looking wood. One other note. The torque to install them seemed just about right. Nevertheless, when they were halfway into the hole, I smeared some 5-minute epoxy onto the threads below the top lip. Then I tightened them down all the way, and wiped away any epoxy on the surface. This is probably overkill, but it will keep me from worrying about them coming loose over time.

These are fantastic. I have seen some bad reviews and tested the quality immediately after buying. With the proper pilot whole these went in great with an impact drill and Allen socket. I tried putting a 1/4”x3” bit in and prying it out in the vise with no luck. I then used them to build a kids loft bed and they worked great, super sturdy. The only complaint I have is the interior threads are a little loose but that did not take away from the fact that they seem to be incredibly strong.
