This is a good idea but the scanner worked for a day and now I have to enter the books in manually since the scanner no longer works

Love ease of plug in and go. No boring instruction guide. Students use to check in/ out class library books on booksource classroom library. Great and free tool for teachers.

I bought this because I HATE all these passwords for everything. So I printed out QR codes for my login and passwords I use for when I work from home. Now I don’t need to the anything. Just a click and I’m logged into all my work and even personal accounts. It’s a great time saver.

I connected the scanner and scanned the first few barcodes provided. I opened an excel spreadsheet and it returns the numbers I scanned, that's it. So, if I scan an ISBN number, all that fills into my spreadsheet is the ISBN number. No title or book related information is returned. If that is what you're looking for, this works incredibly fast. I was disappointed because I wanted all of the metadata for the book as well. I am trying to find a way to get that with this scanner. I will try to post solutions if I find any.

So.......... after expecting it to just work.....and trying all kinds of things that did not work.... ( like trying to get Google Play to download an app on a PC ) and wasting all kinds of time.....I JUST plugged it in and "zapped" the codes, "step 1" then "step 2" then "USB KBW" (under "6. Communication") AND it WORKS !! Hah ley F in Lu Yah !!!!!!!

There are no written instructions provided at all. All of the data, instructions, and configuration information is in 32 QR Codes. I finally read the original QR Codes that I bought the scanner for after an hour of effort, almost purely by accident. Unless you are someone who already understands the details of scanner operation and how to configure them for various interfaces and tasks, you would do better to get a QR Code app for your cell phone.

This scanner worked out of the box for entering codes onto a text document and Google sheet.It also worked on my Android phone using a USBC->USBA adapter. Just shows up as a keyboard.I tested it with a bunch of 1D barcodes on random stuff around me, and it scanned them all nearly instantaneously, even ones that were wrapped around a cylinder or crumpled.It took slightly longer (still less than a second) to scan 2D barcodes. With normal QR codes, it's fast and flexible with positioning. Other codes, like PDF417 on the back of my driver's license, read quickly but only work within a narrow range. I had to hold it at a certain distance and angle for those.Also, if you want to read inverted color codes, make sure to activate that in the instruction manual.I included the full manual here in my pictures just in case someone needed it.
