These are uniform in size and sturdy. The metal solders nicely using high temperature silver. I use these to make Conchos for Western Horse Tack decorations.

Good construction, color and quantity for the money. This is a good buy.

Didn't think there could be such a difference in the quality of a screw, but I learned my lesson to not buy Chicago Screws online from anywhere but Tandy. The quality is far superior to any other I've tried. As you can even tell the difference in the picture, where the Tandy Chicago Screw has a nice rounded head on both the male and the female. The other kind is flat and sharp, and has torn up a leather belt I've been working on. I would absolutely pay a little extra for the Tandy brand if you're working on any kind of project that uses Chicago Screws

These little gems are amazing! I don't know how the world got along without a combination screw and barrel-shaped nut with a rounded head. Now, granted, the screw itself is nothing special. It is a normal screw designed to be tightened in the familiar "righty tighty" fashion using a standard flat head screw driver (caution, screw driver sold separately. Always use eye protection). What really sets these things apart is how they go together. The "nut", if I may be so bold as to call it that, is shaped like a long tube, the length of which is precisely matched to the length of the screw. So, when they are joined together in the familiar spiral screwing fashion the formerly open end of the nut rests gently against the backside of the screw head. Now sure, you could stop halfway, but if you're like me, you will want to go ahead and give those few final twists and have the satisfaction of a job done to completion. Maybe it's the OCD shining through, but there's no substitute for a good fully done screwing in. The nut has a beautiful mushroom cap shape that is both smooth and durably hard. I tried my best to nick the thing and it just stood up to everything I threw at it. Lastly, let's talk about the chrome finish. For my tastes, that's just guilding the lily, but I know that many of you prefer a good finish on your screw, and I will say that this one is more than satisfactory. No amount of abuse will rub this finish off. But even if that were to happen, you've got a whole bag of these lovelies just waiting their turn.

Half of the two-piece screw had fallen out of my leather belt, and gotten lost, so I bought this to replace it. I wasn't sure of what size to get, but it turns out the 1/4 inch is twice as big as I need. It's actually a hair over 1/4", I would say 1/32" over. So if it bothers me after wearing it a few times, I'll order the alternate 1/8" size. These are nice quality. I like that there is only a slot on one side, as I don't want the slot to show. A smaller head would have been ok too, but this is really adequate. The head is 3/8" diameter. After you screw the two pieces together, the post in the middle is about 3/16 inch.

These screws worked great! I was able to cut a belt down that was too long and use these to re-attach the buckle. The belt looks great and I don't have bare leather on the end like I would had I cut the end instead. Folding the leather around the buckle and making two new holes I was able to cleanly attach it after cutting off the unneeded length.

I purchased this in hopes that I could repair broken purses...guess what? I can, so can you. These are very easy to use. I have several purses/handbags that had broken straps. Nobody would even know they were ever broken. I would recommend these for purchase. They are high quality, easy to use and look great. RECOMMENDED BY SUZY
