Its a great tool and made my install very easy. It has good weight to it and that's what you need to slap these planks together!

Bowed way more than the thickness of the floor. Lost a 1/4 pound flattening it to usable with table saw and planer, otherwise wait 2 days to get one from another seller.

I’m a flooring installer and this is by far the best style tapping block you can get for laminate, hardwood, lvp, LVT…. So much faster that the traditional tapping block with hammer

My wife and I decided to replace most of the flooring throughout our house with vinyl planks. We're doing the work ourselves and have watched a lot of "how to" videos. Often the videos showed the installer using a tapping block. Initially we just used a rubber mallet against a scrap piece of flooring to tap on the planks but we decided to get one of these tapping blocks to make things a little easier and to save some time. I was surprised how big this was when it arrived. It's almost 16 inches long. That's a good thing because it really distributes the tapping force. The bottom of the block is super smooth and slick allowing it to glide over the surface. The wooden handle is very comfortable to hold. I think if you're planning to install vinyl plank flooring you should seriously consider getting this tool. A package of plastic wedges for the outer edge of your flooring is included.

I've seen the reviews for this tapping block... and the absolute truth is there's a lot of bad advice and user error. This is a "TAPPING" block.... not a "POUNDING" or "SLAPPING" block...You align the two pieces of flooring... work the two seams into place and then LIGHTLY tap the piece into place. If you feel the need to tap harder.... use a scrap piece of flooring as a buffer... Common sense needs to be applied liberally... I install a couple dozen pallets of vinyl plank flooring every month... I am not a DIY person who's installed a few boxes... I've used pretty much every type of flooring installation tool... The cheap tapping blocks you find at the local Home D stores will wreck your flooring way faster than this tapping block. The other blocks require you to fit the block with a hammer... this tapping block eliminates the hammer. This has a really nice handle and it has a solid weight and feel to it. A light tap to the edge is plenty of force to get the two seams to clip lock into place. Some reviews say this tapping block ruined their flooring... that is 100% due to user error and lack of experience using a real tapping block like this one. This is my 2nd tapping block like this... Next week I have another 75 boxes of flooring to install..... and I will be using this tapping block again. My technique .... I keep one corner of the tapping block touching the plank of flooring... I pull the other end away from the plank and then slide that end back into the plank.... tap .. tap .. tap... keeping the heel off the tapping block against the edge of the plank while sliding the opposite end to tap the plank into place. I recommend watching YouTube videos from a channel called.... "So that's how you do that!" Best flooring videos on all of YouTube.

Get this product. It makes laying down floors infinitely easier. I've done countless floors before getting this, and I'll never do another without using it.

This product is built well and easy to handle. If you are doing LVP, it saves much time without having to hurt your fingers. I initially had the cheap small little plastic tapping block the ones you get in a kit that come with cheap plastic spaces. What a difference!
