I was not sure how to connect it to my computer, thinking it went through the HDMI port. The directions were not clear. It turns out the connection is through the USB port. It works great.

Got a new HP computer with Windows 11. Bought this because we couldn’t get our old docking station to work. Literally just hooked all of the cords up and it worked immediately. No driver downloads required. TBD if it’ll last, but happy on day 1.

only drawback that I gave is it did not come with the power tips for other laptops/portables which is should have. Otherwise it would have got top marks.

Works perfectly with just the right ports required for dual monitor set up. Power delivery is also a great feature. Just download the display link app and it connects instantly. Perfect device at the perfect price .

I used this docking station with my Lenovo Windows 11 laptop. The set up is a bit complicated. It will not work right away, but will require you to download it software for it to work. Fortunately, this popped up under window updates. Besides that, this is a great docking station. It comes with plenty of USB ports and does a great job charging my laptop (I use the USB-C adapter).

Overall, it works well and was just what I was looking for.I have 2 laptops. The first is a new Windows 11 laptop. There are no problems using the docking station with this laptop - I connected the laptop to the docking station and all the peripherals were recognized and the pass through power worked. The other laptop is a Windows 10 laptop that is about 4 years old and there are 2 minor issues:1. The pass through power doesn't work so I have to connect the power cord to the laptop.2. If I'm logged into the computer and I connect to the docking station, the monitors won't connect. I have to log out or restart for the display to work correctly.I updated the drivers on the my laptop and installed the DisplayLink software that's mentioned in the docking station user guide but the problems are still occurring. These two issues are minor annoyances and I'm only going to be using this laptop for a few more months so I can live with it.

I have tried many usb C docks trying to get to one plug for everything. This is it. In addition to having four USB C ports, it has power delivery , gigabit Ethernet, and dual HDMI via display link. One plug into your laptop and you have a powerful multi monitor setup at half the price of many other products.

This is a reasonable size and packed with features. The power delivery through the USB-C/Thunderbolt connection is up to 100 watts so it can handle most laptops demanding high power. I'm running two 1080p displays through it and the image is stable for the work being done. I've connected the standard accessories including Ethernet, audio and various USB devices without any issues. This is well worth the price for anyone in need of a dock compatible with most modern laptops.

I got this dock on sale for $79, or else I never would have purchased it. Because of the steep discount, I am giving it a 5 star review. It does exactly what I needed it to do - allow my work-issued M2 MacBook Air to seamlessly connect to my two existing monitors that my little dell latitude had no problem handling on its own.Sure, sometimes you need to turn it off and on to get it to wake up, and sure, the front USB-C port won't work with my MagSafe charger (but does work with USB-C to lightning???), but it absolutely will let you connect to at least 2 external displays, charge your laptop, connect your webcam, etc. all with a single cord.If you find yourself with a beautiful, new, upgraded laptop from work only to be completely defeated when you realize it cannot hook up to your external monitors, buy this little guy (if it's on sale). Trust me when I tell you that this is the best and easiest solution. I tried at least 27 other things, including using an Apple TV hooked up to one monitor and extending my screen to it (which was the only one I can say even worked, but the lag and quality was horrendous).

Targus is what most government and companies use for their staff docks. You wanna know why? Because they are affordable and they work. Don't be like me don't buy a bunch of cheap docks and dongle, you are going to end up buying a targus cuz the cheap dongle either breaks physically or the software gets outdated. Like my old dongle wouldn't work with nvidia graphics card drivers past 2015.

Just bought the Targus USB C Docking Station Universal DV4K, USB C Laptop Docking Station Dual Monitor 2 HDMI, With Legacy Host Power Kit, (DOCK182USZ). The initial setup and connections couldn't have been easier. It was totally intuitive. The next day, I thought there was something wrong with my ISP because my internet speeds were down from 500+ Mbps to ~80 Mbps, and sometimes less than that. The wifi on my laptop was faster than the ethernet connection coming through the docking station. I kept trying to troubleshoot what could be wrong with my ISP or with MY home network -- and then I thought to move the Cat6e cable from the Targus docking station to the laptop.Bingo! The speeds were back up to where they should be. That's really weird because the product page here on Amazon claims 1Gbps throughput: "ETHERNET & AUDIO PORTS - If you're looking for a computer docking station for laptops dual monitor, you'll love that this dock also includes 1 Gigabit Ethernet port and 1 3.5mm combo Audio In/Out port"So, I'm not relying on the ethernet connection on the docking station because the docking station is less than two inches from the laptop. It's not a big deal in terms of logistics, but the device is either faulty or the claim is wrong and the docking station actually only supports 100Mbps and not 1Gbps.Bottom line: It's a great docking station with (just enough) USB ports and HDMI/DisplayPort video ports, but if you need 1Gbps ethernet through the docking station, don't count on it.

Docking works very well, plugged with an HDMI monitor and USB peripherals. I just needed to install latest DisplayLink driver and that's it.
