Update- I contacted Taylor Made. They reported that they no longer use a hard shell on the float material. We will see how long this lasts.I purchased the 96” version of the pick-up buoy I have used for decades. I am shocked to see this float is missing a polyethylene skin like every others pick-up buoy I purchased from Taylor. I know the foam will degrade from UV exposure if it is not covered. Very disappointed and considering a return.

Length is ideal. Makes picking up my mooring line easy peasy. Well made.

Does what it is intended for. I think that all of these buoy pick-uos, no matter the make are all over-priced; its still a fiberglass rod with a piece of foam after all, but it is what it is. It works, stays afloat . I would like to see the the addition of a flag or banner for easier visibility when trying to find mooring.

Why people use Boat Hooks is beyond us. We keep out boat on a Mooring Ball and use this every time we are off the mooring so that when we sail back to the mooring we can easily get our pendants on board and secure our Sailboat. This thing is invaluable to us and is easily worth every penny to us.

Great. It even came with a light line to attach it to your mooring. Now if it would only bring itself alongside.

We moor out boat in Morro Bay, CA. Our tides here sometimes seem to rival the Bay of Fundy. You usually get one chance to grab the mooring line before the tide sweeps you on by, forcing you to go around and try it again. When we leave, we tie one mooring line to our dingy and the the other mooring line to this pick up. My wife likes being able to grab the pick-up rod and make the mooring line fast with out having to struggle with the boat hook. Once secured, it is easy to snag the dingy line and moor up securely.
