If you have the budget for a standalone dedicated meter, buy this. Its easy to use, easy to understand, fun to watch, and super helpful. It turns your music making into a much more fun experience when you can see the music dancing. LUFS becomes an easy objective and you end up learning a lot watching this thing.

This device works well for me although the breakout cable was a little less than what I’d hoped for. Generally, I was looking for something that I could do live sound system. It’s a little more complicated than I had hoped for, but it does work. It works well to hook to a computer and check audio for recorded videos to see if the levels are good. Overall, I’m pleased with the product. The screen is very nice and the features are very nice. I probably should’ve just got the stereo version. I haven’t tried to connect to a surround sound system to check system output.

What a great purchase. The neatest way to install this is by using an optical cable for audio input, then combining the power, USB and optical in a length of cable sock, cable-tied to the stand. Otherwise the three cables that have to be plugged in to get the best out of this device are a bit of a mess. That said, the three separate cables and D-sub connector are actually pretty much the perfect design choices for maximum flexibility (including 12V power).With that out of the way, I have to say that for the price this is brilliant. Having a permanent meter on your desk or rigged above your main displays means no more floating plugin window taking up space, or that you keep accidentally closing. The plugin works perfectly for DAW integration, and the device is perfect for mixing live streams without it.My only gripes with this are minor. Firstly, the power adapter cable is only 1.5m. This is fine if it's sitting on your desk but if you want to get creative with where you place it, this is limiting. Also, the DC connector is centre negative! Why, when ~90% of other 12V devices out there use a centre positive connector? Also, a locking connector would have been nice.The other is the slightly counter-intuitive menu navigation. Two soft-buttons are used to navigate between menu list items, while the central dial is used to change values. I think this would be quicker to operate if the central dial could be used to scroll through menu list items, and one soft-button was assigned to 'select'. Once an item is selected, the dial would then scroll through values.Having to press the 'down' button many, many times to scroll through the menu is a drag, but once you have things set up, it's unlikely you'll be using the menu often anyway.Overall, very, very good.

That's great, that's easy and practical. It made me pay greater attention to monitoring. It's customizable and really add to studio recording. Nowadays with all the imposition and standardization that TVs and streaming requires, it is a must!!

From all Plug-Ins and meters in the pro audio industry, TC Electronic created a fantastic audio meter with so much standards and criteria for audio metering (also custom presets as you need and work), for different industries such as iTunes music mastering, Broadcast, Cinema and some local loudness normalization (Japan, China, EBU).The software design is great, the metering is accurate, it is ready to work just with a USB as a "Plug-In Mode" and also, as a Stand Alone audio meter. It is great you may paste your logo (Studio) on it's screen!The Screen and hardware is beautiful. It is affordable. For any DAW you work with, Clarity M is the best audio meter ever! Thanks TC Electronic and all audio distributors/re-sellers to let us have it!

This works very well and is amazingly priced for what it does. Only caveat is that to get 5.1 to work you MUST use the AES/EBU inputs. The optical input is only Stereo and doesn’t have any Dolby decoding. The only way I have found to do get AES outputs from an Optical Bitstream is to purchase a Monoprice Optical to Coaxial convertor, a Dolby DP-562 from eBay and Canare BNC to XLR adapters for input. Fortunately the additional items cost only about another $110, but with these items the Clarity-M works perfectly for monitoring Bitstreams. All other Dolby decoding devices I could find only had Analog outputs. Hope this helps others.
