I needed a replacement thumb screw for the belt tensioner on a 1967 Rockwell Drill Press. This is a well made heavy thumb screw which resembles the quality from years ago.

I was building a telescope mount counterweight and I needed a thumbscrew at least 1.375" long. This exactly meets that requirement. The head is easy to grip. The tap that I was using was not quite long enough to get all the way into the center hole but this completed the last few threads just fine.

I should have written this sooner."Black oxide finish for excellent resistance to corrosion" an absolute Bologna Sandwich statement.I bough this is May 2017 and used it to hold a irrigation box cover down.The screw rusted with in a month.I will probably have to replace them.14 Oct 2018Decided to remove it and it was rusted trough-and-through.
