This search mirror is a well-crafted tool with a solid build that feels durable and reliable. The attached light is incredibly helpful for clear visibility during inspections, even in low-light areas. Assembly and disassembly are quick and straightforward, and its compact design makes it easy to store when not in use.

Got this as a gag gift to pretend I was security at a friends house and it works really well! I could see the tracking device on my car that I installed and I thought that was cool.

The mirror works fine, it is the pole its on that is at issue. I had to add Teflon tape to the "screw the pole together" piece to get that to stabilize...which means I can't break the mirror down for storage without doing the tape again. That said, once together, the mirror worked well for looking under, over, or around things, including my car.An STG Synergies Review!

The instructions for assembling this could use some improvement as they only offer a drawn depiction of the item and a very brief instruction portion. The poles seem sturdy enough for their purpose but the one that attaches to the handle portion does not seem to be aligned appropriately. It cannot be tightened completely or it will bow. I am not confident this will last very long because it has to be disassembled to be stored and then reassembled for use. It isn't difficult to do either but it is kind of a hassle and requires tools. We drive raised 4WD vehicles and this fits under them but my lower minivan is a tight squeeze and it is impossible to see anything beyond a few inches on that. I think most vehicles are even lower, so I don't know how well it will work for them. The wheels function best on the pavement. They do alright in grass but not very well on gravel. I am torn on how to rate this because it is a specific tool that I imagine would be purchased by mechanics, shops, or large truck owners and not most homeowners. I would honestly give it 3.5 stars but that isn't possible and I don't think it deserves 3 because it is as described, so it will be 4. I might recommend considering this if caught on a significant price cut (it really isn't worth $90), and you expect to use it often enough that it doesn't need to be assembled and disassembled often, or if you really need it but only very occasionally and the hassle is worth it.

So this tool came with atrociously written and illustrated instructions for assembly, but anyone who would need this tool is probably mechanically enough inclined to figure it out easily. It came is a nifty bag that is small, nearly flat, and easily portable, but to put it back in the bag, you have to take nearly the whole tool apart again, including the bottom section of handle where it attaches to the base, and that will then remove the wheels. They should have made a short straight piece to attach to the mirror where you could then attach the long bent handle. It has three joints in the handle anyway, why not put the first one low enough down so you could just unscrew the handle before the angle? The handle joints are not very secure either, they tend to twist around on you and there is no way to tighten them so they won't. Last, it did not come with lock washers and definitely needs lock washers. Rolling the device just a little, all the wheel nuts started coming off from vibration. You probably have some lock washers, just be aware you will need to supply some or you will always be tightening the wheels. It worked well to get a view at the edges of the vehicle, as you can clearly see the scrape marks on the underside of my bumper. But I could not get a view further in, like the muffler ( have a very low clearance car), and the handle angle prevents it from going far under the vehicle. I did like the mechanism for attaching the light. That is a nifty holder, a plastic double clamp that attaches to the handle and then has a clasp for attaching the light.

First of all, be careful when opening this package! It comes taped very well, so that your first instinct is to grab a box cutter, but keep in mind theres nothing to protect the bag from being cut. This is a very well made inspection mirror. The flashlight is a huge bonus. It's easy to assemble and disassemble. The carrying bag it comes with is really nice.

Husband is less than pleased overall with this under vehicle inspection mirror. First, the wheels need lock washers because any vibration loosens the nuts and the wheels start to come off, and it did not come with a flat wrench, and you'll need two of them in order to tighten the nut. Second, the device has a nice carrying bag but you have to practically take the entire thing apart in order to put it back in the bag. Third, it doesn't have the reach Husband was hoping for. And finally, the knob to adjust the length of the handle is upside down, so righty tighty lefty loosey doesn't apply in the normal inspection position. Husband has to flip the entire mirror around, over his head, in order to adjust the handle.
