This unit, for the price, worked very well transmitting on both bands with almost the same range for 360 degrees as advertised. My only disappointment is that it only had one WAN/LAN connection. A second LAN connection to daisy chain other units or devices together would have made it perfect. I would have deleted 1/2 star for that but 4.5 is not an option. It is set up with most settings at default so that only minor program adjustments will get you working quickly, if you are adapt at working with WiFi AP and Client radios. However, there are a lot of programmable features included to customise this unit, if desired. An important feature for me was the ability to program in multiple SSIDs with separate passcodes.I purchased this on sale which even sweetened the deal.

The only issue I had in setup was the default password is not correct or the software is not working. The manual says defaults are admin and admin. When I put that into the system it tells me it is wrong. I reset the AP, same thing. On a whim because the error said must me 8 characters or more, I used adminadmin as the password. This worked to get me past the main screen. I then was able to login using admin and adminadmin.I thought initially the screen was making me create a new password, but that was not the case. After this little mishap I had no further issues. The only other note I have is there was no option to broadcast a single SSID. It was possible to set both hands to the same SSID.It is good that you can set the bands to different SSID, as this is sometimes required. It just stands out to me that the software is a little old to not have a combine SSID option.Like I said the AP is working without issues.

I mean, I'm reviewing this from the room I was trying to get my network to.What else can I say?It works flawlessly with little to no configuration needed. Pair it with a PoE switch and it looks very aesthetically pleasant to the eyes since it has a very nice-looking flat cable.both 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies work as they should.

It is exactly what it says it is. Good 5GHz and 2GHz wifi. Nothing too significant, but does what it says on the tin.

UPDATE: Tenda has good customer service, after seeing this review they reached out to us and wanted to make this right. They refunded our money and asked if we would give them another try. Impressive in that respect. Changing overall rating from one star to three because they made it right.Worked great for 30 days now it won't find an IP address or the internet. IP failure when trying to access via wifi as well.Very disappointing

I've helped several people install one of these in their garage for streaming to a TV. Backhauled by either an aerial or trenched in CAT6 cable that they ran, or fed by a couple of Ubiquiti bridges to their main network in their house that I setup. Then create the PartyBarnWiFi for them and your are out the door. Nice little AP that does the job and at a low price.

Unable to use with WPA2, no matter what I tried. And NO tech support! I emailed, never got any reply. I called over a dozen times, only goes to VM after holding for 5 minutes. I left 4 voicemails, and NEVER got any reply. Tech support is non existent with Tenda!

You'll have to buy something like the below linked if your setup doesn't already send power down the cat5 network cable. There's no power cable in the box but it does accept one of you already have the right supply.I didn't end up using this product in the end, the software isn't plug and play, you've to go about setting subnet masks and IP addresses ... sheesh, I though I could simply use the Cat5 cabling already in the house to extend the Wi-Fi. Perhaps it's for more experienced network engineers with training and time on their hands. I was advised by others to avoid this brand I should have listened.=============Tenda 30W Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Injector Adapter, 802.3at & 802.3af Compliant (POE30G-AT) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B016PYKX3S/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_3P8T4BZ5V2599E0HCNVY
