For QuickTime Player, click “File,” then “New Movie Recording.” Use the settings button to change the camera or adjust image quality.

Download and install “Amcap". Download the link in the user manual
Make sure to select the correct device name in the menu. Plug the USB camera into your computer.
Step 1: Click “Devices” in the menu and choose “Teslong Camera”.
Step 2: Click “Options,” then “Preview”.

This is such an excellent value and useful tool the only bad thing I can say about it is that it doesn’t come with a storage case for easy transport. The product description is, to my mind, 100% accurate in what it does and what you get.This is the kind of product where pictures make a bigger statement than words so I attached a series of photos of a penny taken handheld on a iPhone Pro Max 15 at 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x to help give a visual of its capabilities. The borescope was about an inch away from the penny. As you can see, the zoom increments are all crisp and clear until 3x where it’s noticeably grainy.Build quality is fantastic for its price and I think it’s equally great as work tool and a gift for an inquisitive kid. It’s about the size of a straw, and while it’s not bendable, it can fit into small areas that are normally out of sight. For example, sticking into a wall to confirm a wire’s path, or in the depths of a car’s hood to find a leak or lost screw. And kids can use it as a digital microscope.The built in adjustable brightness light works great to illuminate dark areas or turn off completely when too much light washes the picture out. A focus ring on the top allows you to capture an image inches or feet away.It works great either handheld or with the included stand. The stand can hold the borescope steady in almost any direction. I use mine with my iPhone 15, but it also works with Android, Mac and Windows 11. Because it uses USB, it will not work directly on iPhones with a Lightning connector. Lightning to USB-C adapters exist, but I don’t know if they work with this device.The app used with this borescope is super easy to use and works immediate without granting it any permissions. It stores photos and videos separately from the Photos app which I like because I really don’t like granting apps permission to my pictures. The app shows live video from the camera and if you want to capture either a video or still you press a button on the app. You can then share those photos and videos with others the same way you share any other media. One unfortunate aspect of this, though is that you must share photos one at a time. There is no way to select a group of photos to send.

I wanted something mobile, with a small form factor, I could use to show my grandson some of natures intricacies when we’re out exploring. This fits the bill nicely. It’s surprisingly sharp at its base magnification. It uses digital, not optical zoom, so the image degrades proportionally as magnification increases. But, even at its greatest magnification, it still delivers a reasonable, if somewhat noisy, image. The software is easy to use and, setup with iOS is quick and intuitive. The LED lighting is more than adequate even in very dark environments and, it's easily adjustable. The focus knob works smoothly and allows for quick adjustments. The stand is small but holds the microscope firmly in position. It’s waterproof up to the focus ring, so you can explore puddles or water up to about 4” deep safely although I wouldn’t push it too far. Fun little toy doesn't focus well and I doubt it is a 200x magnifier. Had to turn on developer mode to get it to work.

As a photographer, I’m always exploring different mediums and tools that let me see the world in new ways, and this Teslong USB-C Digital Microscope definitely fits the bill. I bought it on a whim, not expecting much, but I’ve actually been really impressed with what it can do. It connected easily to my iPhone 15 via USB-C and was ready to use right out of the box. The interface is simple, and I was up and zooming within minutes.The 10x to 200x magnification range is surprisingly versatile. I’ve used it to explore everything from fabric weaves to the surfaces of coins, and even the fine details in my printed work. As expected, once you reach the higher end of the magnification, the image quality starts to get a bit grainy and noisy—but I’m pretty sure that’s just digital zoom kicking in, which is common with devices like this. That said, the detail it captures before that point is impressive, and it still makes for interesting and creative imagery.One of my favorite design choices is the focusing ring placement. It’s located on the back of the device, which makes it super easy to adjust while it’s mounted on the stand. I didn’t realize how convenient that would be until I started using it, but being able to fine-tune focus without bumping the frame or getting in the way of what you’re viewing is a small but smart touch. The rotating metal stand itself is solid and easy to position, and the built-in LED lighting is a must-have for proper clarity.Overall, this is a fun, easy-to-use tool that’s earned a spot in my kit. I wouldn’t rely on it for high-end reproduction, of course, but for exploring textures, small details, or just seeing the world a little differently, it’s awesome. It’s one of those gadgets you find yourself grabbing more often than you thought you would—and for a visual creative like me, it’s opened up some new ways to stay curious and inspired.
