We were gone for just over a week and when we came back, there were still a little bit of food left. This was a great option to keep my aquatic friends. Well fed while I was gone.

We have tried this product twice for our Betta fish and she doesn’t seem to like or eat the vacation feeder food. We have tried breaking off a piece as well. I would not recommend for Betta fish. On a positive note, it doesn’t tend to cloud up the fish tank as described by the vendor.

and it doesn't mess up the tank! But my Bettas don't seem to like it much. When I put it in I break in a few pieces, the bits that fall off they grab right away but when I return the Betta sorority tank still has almost all the feeding block and the guppy/snail/shrimp tank has no trace of food. I have used for up to 8 days and so far have lost no fish and none seem starved when I return. I will continue to use.

I had a 14 day trip and so I purchased this as it stated it was good for 14 days. I have guppies and an angelfish as shown on the packaging, as well as a couple snails sucker Fish, and shrimp. This is going to be the fourth week and there is still a significant amount of food left. Totally worth the money and exceeded expectations. Good to know that if my trip had run over or if I need to go on a longer trip in the future, I can count on this to feed my fish. noting that there were 8 fish, 2 snails, and 1 shrimp in a 10 gallon tank.

I received it damaged. It was squeezed into a small box in a very bad way and the funny part is I can't request a return or a refund

It didn't cloud the water! I did melt and make food piles on the bottom of the tank. All my fish survived a 9 day trip, so I have no complaints. I did a partial water change that was needed anyway and all was well.

We travel often and I am sure to keep these on hand. We have Angel Fish, African Dwarf Frogs, Pleco's and a few other community fish. One of these disks lasts about 5 days in my tank. If we plan on being gone longer, we are sure to leave 2 disks in the tank. We have been gone for 11 days before, leaving 2 disks in a 55 gallon tank, and have come home to chunks of the disk's left in the bottom of the tank. Simply scoop out what's left over and toss out, then continue feedings as usual. This food is compressed in a tank safe gel and slowly dissolves, giving your fish the nutrients they need. If you have bottom feeders, they are quick to find the disks and work the food out themselves, helping the process. From my experience, this does NOT make the disks dissolve any faster so no need to add more with bottom feeders. Be sure to remove the disk entirely from the package. Don't leave it in the plastic cup after removing the lid. REMOVE IT FROM THE CUP ENTIRELY and drop the disk in the tank as far from the filter as possible.

I've never had to use a vacation feeder until just recently and purchased this one because of the known brand name. Upon using, the feeder instantly made our water cloudy and bubbly at the top. Since I've never used one of these in the past, I figured that was normal. A week later, all of our fish have now died. I'm not sure if it was just bad timing, or if this was the cause. Up until using this though, our water levels have always tested good, and our water has been perfectly clear. I won't be repurchasing this.
