When I first put it on it was a little long and my mowers auto drive would not engage fully. So I took it bank off to try to bend the back hook so it would fit tighter, well to my surprise this spring is adjustable. You can tighten or loosen my screwing in the inside spring. I had missed the adjustable part in the product description. Once I adjusted it it worked great so now as my belt stretches over time I can take up slack with this adjustable spring. Love it!
