Run a bit big compared to other brands in the same sizing, but my son will eventually grow into them. The tie strings are just for aesthetics, so you can't tighten up the waist band using them. The pants are soft, comfy, and well made.

I have a toddler boy who likes to play trucks, blocks, and everything else on the floor. So, he needs good quality pants. These are holding up well compared to the ones I purchased at kohls. They do not ball up after washings. I do wash inside out though.

While my toddler doesn't have the vocabulary to confirm this yet, these just look and feel so warm and cozy. Toddler has not refused to wear these so I think they have kiddos stamp of approval.
