Handy; controls sound level and rings. May need additional clips on your set according to your needs

These aren’t too bad on my floor tom, but even these ‘small’ ones are far too much dampening/too deadening for rack toms. Maybe I could try cutting these in half? Haven’t tried them on my snares, as I use other dampening on snare drums. Hope this helps.

These things did not modify the sound of my drums. They appear to work in the demo videos but, this is not case for me.However, they are handy for holding other "muffling" things -- like the drum tortillas -- on the drums. And that's what I'm using them for. There are other ways to do that, but, since I bought them and they're really easy to attach and remove, I'm going to use them for that.

I’ve been using the larger clips on snare and toms for a good while and thought I’d try the small ones for times when I might want a little less or a little more dampening. The effect of the smaller clip is VERY subtle, at least in a medium tuning range. I use coated heads most of the time so they’ve got a bit of the “ring” taken out by design, but I could barely notice some overtones going away when I put them on (tried on two 14” snares, 8”, 10”, 12” and 14” toms; some single and some double ply). About the amount of dampening you’d get from a 2” strip of gaff tape. You might notice more of an effect on clear heads or with higher tunings or on smaller drums. So if you don’t have any of these maybe go for the bigger clips. Either option is still a vast improvement over gels or tape imo.

Really didn't have much effect on dampening the ring of my drums.

Totally worth it, especially under a mic. does not create a buzz against the drum head and also does not leave a sticky adhesive or color on the head.
