This textured Steel Teardrop Diamond Plate Trailer Fender for tandem axle trailers is built to be durable yet lightweight. This dark matte metal looks rugged even after getting splattered in mud from the road. The texture gives you extra traction while the teardrop design protects your trailer's wheels from road debris. It makes the perfect replacement or first-time fender. If you're in a state that requires tandem axle trailers to have fenders, your bases are covered when you install this steel fender.

How To Install Your Steel Teardrop Diamond Plate Trailer Fender

You can mount this Teardrop Diamond Plate Trailer Fender on either side of your trailer thanks to a 1" radius lip on the front and a right angle (90 degrees) on the back. There are no pre-drilled mount holes, making it easy to fit this fender to you trailer's mounts. Set the back panel flush with your trailer's side. Then use vices to hold the piece in place. Chalk a line for your drill holes, and use X's to mark where the holes go. Then drill deep enough to dent the mount, and remove the fender. Finish the holes in mounts, and then put the fender back. Line up the holes in the fender and mount, and secure the piece in place.

These 14ga steel trailer fenders are extremely well-made. They arrived in perfect condition. They comepre-primed with a light grey [paint. I washed them and then painted them the color I wanted. They accepted paint quite well. They will look great on my tandem trailer! These are a great value for the money!

As the headline states, the inside skirt did not fit, I had to custom cut the pieces. Not the end of the world but annoying when you have allocated time for the project. Also there was about 3/4 inch difference between the length of the 2 fenders, not sure if one expanded during shipment as they were stacked like plastic cups, again a bit annoying and required additional fabrication.

The fenders came loosely packaged. The backs were in great shape. The fenders needed to be stretched out for the backs to fit. To do this I set them on the ground and with someone else standing on the underside of the top, kicked the ends to get it to widen. I used different hammers but a soft kick seemed to work the best. I then mig welded the backs in place. Not a full weld, just 6 or so 2 inch welds. It's pretty durable. We welded the fenders to 3" channels. I can actually stand on it (190 lbs) without it caving in. I have other trailers that you cannot stand on.
