Until Cleo joined our family last May, I've been fortunate that our other three cats don't feel the urge to see if gravity works with EVERYTHING, nor do they go on my kitchen counters. Cleo, (short for Cleopatra) is the one who rules the roost, though. She ignores my demands that she stay off the counters.On one such trip up to the counter and kitchen sink, she decided she needed to tip over my marble paper towel holder, which shattered it. It was a shame, as that holder had lasted over 25 and had been through 5 moves unscathed.So the search was on for a paper towel holder that would not topple over when Cleo decided to box with it. Most contenders fail because the bottom is not weighed down.Enter this heavyweight.It's black, it's metal, and it's got the heft to get in the ring with a 5 pound kitty. At least I can be reasonably assured that it won't shatter if Cleo tries to apply a KO. And it holds down the roll, too, making it harder for her to use her 23 toenails to shred the roll.News Flash: This paper towel holder defeated the champion in at least one round. Not a knockout, but all judges decided that the paper towel holder is the winner in this matchup.Not to mention it looks great on the counter, too.I'm sure Cleo demands a rematch, but Paper Towel Holder says 'bring it, Cleo. I'm ready for you'

Comes already assembled ready to use. Built solid and sturdy, Perfect size for a paper towel holder. Looks expensive and feels it as well. Not cheaply made at all, Holds a roll perfectly and functions flawlessly with the pressure handle.

Love the fact that it is so heavy. When I go to pull off a sheet it doesn't move the whole thing. The little arm keeps the paper towels from flapping in the wind or rolling off from kids trying to help themselves. Very functionally sound for any kitchen. Perfect size and goes well in my FarmStyle kitchen.

Really hefty for a paper towel holder, it weighs 3.3lbs. and the bottom is rigid plastic with a raised silicone ring which functions to prevent marks on the counter and also seems to provide some suction, which keeps the holder steady when you tear off a piece and it doesn’t move from its place on the counter *until you want it to*. The steel is powder coated (the black version) and the finish is uniform and attractive and the ring at the top is comfortable to put your fingers through when you want to move it. The spring-loaded arm is a great departure from regular dispensers and while it holds the paper securely in place during use, it takes a very light touch to pull it back when it’s time to replace an empty roll.This holder is exactly as described, staying firmly in place and dispensing exactly the number of sheets at a time that you want it to - without a fight and with no more roll spinning in the holder.While I’m not convinced that it’s “normal” to rave about a paper towel holder, I’m very impressed with this one. It really is a nice design both functionality and looks wise so if that *and the price* suits your needs, go for it!

I had a different make of a similar item that didn’t work well; it just didn’t have enough weight to keep from toppling when you ripped off a sheet. This ‘theaoo Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Paper Towel Holder’ solves that problem. No matter if the roll is large (even the triple size) or at the end, the base is heavy enough that it doesn’t move as a sheet is removed. The tension arm is strong enough to hold the towel roll in place while still allowing it to rotate, so everything can be done with one hand. It’s great for not only when your hands are wet, but if they are grimy so you don’t have to touch the rest of the roll. The black is a matte finish.

My wife absolutely loves this paper towel holder! It’s such a great upgrade from our old wooden one, which required unscrewing the top every time we changed the roll.
