These dance shorts fit GREAT!! I bought them in a XL and I normally wear a size 14 in jeans maybe a little smaller some 12's depends on the fit of the clothing and 13 or 15 in juniors....and these fit perfect!! They have a bit of stretch to them too which is AWESOME!! But they are 93% cotton and 7% spandex so they will shrink so I don't think I will be putting them in the dryer though....just hang to dry. Which is fine with me and the waist is pretty comfortable...it comes just below my belly button and it's GOOD that these are mostly cotton because that means they are going to be comfortable and they are soft and they won't be hot like mostly spandex ones are or other materials so that is GREAT I think =) And the only thing is these are a little bit short in the back but that's okay though I can just pull them down a bit but I don't know yet if they will actually ride up or not...but I will update after I've worn them and let you know if they do.....but for just under $10 for these I think that was a GREAT DEAL!! And these where the cheapest ones that I could find in my size and I weigh about 165 lbs that where the cutest with the BEST reviews...so I would definitely recommend them for dancing, pole dancing, yoga, aerobics, cheer-leading, or any activity you might need them for and I bought these to wear under my dresses that where just a little too short but I wanted to wear because they where still cute!! So these are PERFECT for that.....and if you think my review was helpful please click on the like button below and thank you for reading my review =)

I bought these shorts because I needed something shorter than I normally wear for pole classes (you need your skin for grip). So I purchased these because it was a great price and they look like they fit nice. These are perfect for me! I usually wear a 6-8 in bottoms, and these fit as expected. The v in front of the waistband is not bulky at all like some other bottoms I own (of a different brand). The height of the waistband is great too - not too low cut but not high waisted either. They're a good mid-rise. These are 93% cotton 7% spandex and the material has a nice, soft feel and is not sheer at all. I love them so much I've ordered more in other colors!

Exactly as I'd hoped/expected. Very flattering fit and material. Got these with intention to use for pole fitness: these cover everything they should but, as others have remarked, are not appropriate for casual wear beyond home and the dance studio. The waist line lies flat and does not create a muffin top (victory!). The v-front lies about an inch below my navel, and the inseam provides just enough coverage over the gluteal fold to make a gal comfortable in class without covering too much thigh. As a size 10/12 in most styles, I ordered a Medium, which fit just right. There's plenty of stretch in these and I'd imagine ordering up would've led to some embarrassing moments. The Chocolate color is dark enough to avoid too many issues with the material being on the thin side. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.

Fine for the price, definitely doesn't provide full coverage on a full booty. The fit on the M is more or less as expected for my 38" hip/butt--no bulging at the waistband but still not particularly flattering from behind because of the cut. I do like the V on the waist.I bought them for around the house and for pole dancing/yoga since my other spandex shorts have had holes in them for years and I wanted a second, less embarrassing pair. They aren't as comfortable (probably less lycra/spandex than the other pair which is super stretchy) and they do sort of ride up and bunch on me because of the cut. I don't wear them to exercise and rarely wear them even for bumming around, but they do in a pinch on laundry day or if I need them under a short flowy skirt (although I have abandoned them because of bunching on a hot day--modesty be damned).Overall these might work for someone with a different shape, but aren't quite what I was hoping for.

I had surgery that cut hip-to-hip and unless I buy low rise panties the waistband is uncomfortable. These are most comfortable I've worn since surgery which is healed but it is uncomfortable to have something binding on the scar. In seeing pictures of teenagers and hip young women wearing low cut teeny-weeny panties I ordered a couple of those sort at times and teenagers and hip ladies are welcome to them, uncomfortable and have that annoying creep, if you know what I'm talking about. The one that requires frequent tugging to dislodge from unmentionable part of anatomy. They are expensive but worth the money to me and will continue to buy them.

I bought a pair of similar dance shorts (made by Motionwear) at a local dance store, and decided I liked the v-front so much, I wanted more; however, I didn't want to spend $25 on them. These don't fit QUITE as nicely, but they are a close 2nd and especially for the price..They are cotton material, not the slick spandex/lycra, I'm a little worried about the black fading due to the material, but we'll see how they hold up. I also bought the garnet, which is more of a bright maroon than a red. The inseam is a little lengthier than the MotionWear pair and the "height" of the product (i.e. how far they come up to my belly button/back) is a little higher, too. That said, overall they fit similar to other dance shorts--I'm 5'1 and 122 with 31" hips and thought the small fit as expected. You pull them out to look at them and go "no way" but then they stretch in the places they should, and everything is good with the world again.Depending on how they hold up in the wash, I will be buying more of this prpduct--this is a good product for dance classes and beach cover-ups, especially for the price.
