This could have been a honerun. If these plates offered different ways of sitting against the reed could have been incredible. Instead they are all the exact same plate in different finishes.....If Theo really thinks that will change the sound I'm not sure we can believe anything he says about his mouthpieces.I have a Durga 3 #9 alto mouthpiece and it is a fantastic mouthpiece. Right up there with the Beechler Bellite, Jumbo Java, ARB, Dukoff, Super Jet, Drake Sanborn, and other great mpcs. Just wish the plates had been made of different designs (front to back rail style like a bonade, side to side rails like one of the vandoren optimum ligature custom plates, 4 raised balls like the beechler ligatures, etc)If he ever designs a true versatile plate set, I'll buy it day one.
