After purchasing and returning a different third light for my 1500 that didn't fit I found this third brake light and it fits very nicely, looks great and bright. When installing I used the original lights rubber mount in between this light housing and the supplied mount that has an adhesive backing to put directly onto the truck for a more snug and water proof fit.

Put this in my 96 GMC and it fit great. Used the rubber seal but after installing it I used clear sealant around it and after several super heavy rains it does not leak. The brake light is very bright. All my rear lights are LED and this complements the look. The cargo light illuminates the entire bed area and then some. It plugged up to the original plug with no issues. It's worth it for safety and visibility. An FYI, I did purchase the clear with chrome trim version and it looks great just being there, much better than the stock light.

I bought this for my 99 k2500 and it fit perfect. This is the first time my 3rd brake light has worked in years. Looks good as well. The gasket they give you is a little cheap but otherwise very good product.

I’m not sure what anyone else’s issue was, mine was a perfect fit plugged rite in and worked, mounting it eeeeh there’s some options, the piece of plastic on the back from what I could tell is optional, the double sided padded piece will do a sufficiently job at sealing the light to the cab once the screws are installed so you don’t have to use the weird rubberized plastic that comes on the back of the light, I tried it with it on and with it off and it’ll work both ways with that padding being used instead. But I left the weird plastic on it’s not that much of an eye sore it’s hardly noticeable. As for the quality of this light, I shopped long and hard and this is for sure the best quality for he money and it comes packaged like it’s a gold bar mixed with fine china. It’s the smoke lens is beautiful but it does dim the leds a bit, but they’re still just as bright as my led tail lights. The cargo lights would be better if they where clear lens though but again they’re still plenty bright! I’m very pleased with this purchase.
