Great strings for beginning students, but there is something lacking in the tone of the lower strings. I would definitely recommend them above Red Labels, Preludes, Helicores, and the lower end Pirastros.

Smooth transition playing to A string (NOT TINNY) and back down, well matched sound between strings. No wolf notes found yet. Put on a $2k cello. Projects well, sweet sound. I'm picky about tone, these can sing, and with gusto. Still breaking in but very playable from the start. Who knows what the school put on our cello previously as a favor but they were junk compared to these.

These strings sound beautiful!. I had a set of Jagar strings on my cello, but always felt that they were lacking in a warm tone, I thought the A string was particularly harsh, but these Spirit strings have that warm, mellow sound I was looking for. These will be my only choice from now on. And the shipping - the strings were here within 3 days. I will buy these again and again.
