Item description does not explain how excellent and functional these GMRS radios are.These can monitor air, fire, police, emergency services, access GMRS repeaters, encrypt yourvoice communications, have FM radio, NOAA radio, and amazing battery life.Compact, quality build with excellent voice quality.Highly recommended. You can purchase lapel microphone and earpiece.I absolutely love this radio.

The TidRadio H3 is a compact and versatile dual-band radio packed with features. One standout is its ability to receive airband signals, making it a great choice for aviation enthusiasts. Key features include USB-C programming and charging, AM/FM reception, wireless radio replication, dual PTT functionality, dual watch, and dual display capabilities. Great for everyday carry.Transmission range is typical for radios in this class, largely dependent on the quality and height of the antenna. Keep in mind, receiving a signal doesnโt guarantee others will hear you when transmitting.To transmit legally, an amateur FCC license is required for amateur bands, while a GMRS license is necessary for GMRS bands. However, anyone can listen without a license.For added fun, program your nearest airport frequencies and enjoy listening to planes as they come and go. The TidRadio H3 is a solid choice for both hobbyists and casual users.

Has many features. It is built well. It operates perfectly. Good QC. Lighter, more compact, well designed, and less costly than others. The customer service is excellent, unlike the incompetent Baofeng.

This is my first set of GMRS radios and I couldn't be happier. MY wife and I use them to stay in contact when I'm out walking the dogs. The sound from the speaker is excellent for such a small unit. Programming is a breeze with Chirp, and with the Bluetooth cloning feature it is simple to transfer all settings to the second radio (if you're away from your computer) Optionally, programming it via the Android app works well. The customer service is just awesome! (I had a small issue with one of the units) They were quick to respond and didn't give me the round around. I wish all companies would operate like TIDRadio.Overall a great product and experience! Well worth the money.

I originally purchased a TIDRADIO TD-H8 first, and it is a great solid radio. After I learned more about the TD-H8 and TIDRADIO, I found out about their new TD-H3. TD-H3 is cheaper than the TD-H8, yet the H3 packs more features in a smaller body than the H8. Most noticeably, the TD-H3 has Bluetooth connectivity for programming with your smartphone, in addition to programming using the regularly USB/FTDI cable. The other feature that TD-H3 has and TD-H8 doesnโt is H3 has 2 Push-To-Talk buttons, so you can switch your transmission between the two channels without using the A/B button to switch between the two channels. Even though the TD-H8 is reasonably small, the TD-H3 is even smaller, probably one of the smallest 5-watt GMRS radios on the market. The TD-H3 has a nice, readable LCD screen. Text is large enough that I donโt need my progressive glasses to read. Its battery has USB-C charging port built in so you can charge anywhere you have an USB-C cable and a power source.But I think the best two features of them all, and two that arenโt really advertised, are firmware update availability and the ability to unlock the radio to receive additional frequencies. TIDRADIO has been releasing new firmware update for the TD-H3 regularly. The TD-H8 comes with firmware version 231229 (2023-Dec-29th). As far as I know, there has been 2 additional firmware releases, 240223 and 240229. You can download them on TIDRADIOโs website. Firmware update for 2-way radios is rare, if not unheard of. TIDRADIO is doing a good job keeping the TD-H3 up to date with bug fixes and new features. In addition, there are specific boot-up sequence to allow user to reset the TD-H3 to change into different operating modes to unlock more bands and frequencies (HAM, GMRS, Unlocked). You can find the procedure online and on YouTube.All in all, the TD-H3 is a very capable GMRS radio that can do more than most radios out there at this price range, GMRS or not, and in a very small, convenient package. It is small and discrete enough that even your family members and friends will feel comfortable carrying one around to communicate with you!

I would not have expected that this radio would be able to reach as far as it has. While understanding conditions can impede performance. I was able to hit repeaters 15 pulse miles away, during a torrential downpour while driving. Great reception and transmission. easy to use scan and program. While not IPX-rated, it is still an incredible value for your money!! Get yourself one or two of these to put in your vehicle or spare go bag. And remember, you need a license to transmit on these, but no testing is required!

This radio is a great option for a first time GMRS user and once you get you ham license switching to Ham mode is a breeze. I have only encountered two problems with this radio. The first problem being that the belt clip snapping off of one of the two H3's I bought, this happened because I put the radio on my belt and it snagged on a stud i walked too closely to. the second problem i had with the radio is with the Air Radio part of the radio. The H3 uses the wrong type of Squelch when receiving Air Band causing all received audio to sound very quiet, distant and staticky. This radio is a lot smaller than TidRadio's photos make it look, but even with it's size it feels very sturdy and dense. this radio is really high in quality and super convenient for the price point and i would totally recommend this radio for any GMRS user.
