first seal i bought had a rubber coating and would not start straight. had i been working under a lift may not have been a problem. this seal went in without a problem.

I bought this using the amazon fits my vehicle and it may very well fit a 2005 ChevyOnly it does not fit the tail shaft of my Chevy automatic 2 wheel driveThis is a transfer case seal----not a a tail shaft seal for an automatic.My Chevy is all factory 2005 1500 2 wd auto 4 speed and this seal is way largerI changed out my carrier bearing and my u-joints and this does not even come close to a fit.This is the Gm sku #SKU: 24232325Other Names: Automatic Transmission Extension Housing Seal, SealNot a problem for me as I have a 2005 z71 suburban and am sure it will be used on her.
