Product Specifications
Hypoallergenic
Alpaca wool does not cause allergies because, unlike sheep's wool, it does not contain lanolin (a wax that is highly absorbed by the skin and is present in sheep animals).
However, as alpaca wool is an animal fiber, its molecular structure is very similar to human hair and contains microscopic keratin flakes that can cause itching in some skins, also influenced by the humidity of the environment.
If this occurs, we recommend washing the garment with cold water and shampoo, rinse and soak in water with conditioner for 30 minutes, rinse, place on a towel and roll up without wringing to remove excess water and leave to dry in the shade on a dry towel.
Increased comfort
Only absorbs 2% of water in a humid environment, this property allows easy removal of moisture from the body and is pleasant to wear.
Better dimensional stability
The manufactured garments do not lose their original shape after washing.
Simple Garment Care
Can be washed by hand or machine in a delicate clothes, with mild soap and water at less than 30C. It is recommended not to wring and dry on a flat surface.

A garment woven with 100% alpaca wool is expensive and out of reach for many. This is why we have obtained a combination of fibers allowing us to offer you a product of excellent quality at a good value.

I have gotten it last year. It has stood the test of time- washed it in a wool cycle and it did not stretch nor pill, and after a year, still fits well and looks well. Very happy with the purchase.

Disappointed due to incorrect information from Amazon about the knitted vest. The description is clear: "Peruvian Alpaca Wool." The price reflected this choice wool. If it were a wool blend it should be stated thus. The description indicated that it was made from alpaca wool. That sounds like all wool - all alpaca wool - however, the tag on the garment states clearly, "Alpaca and cotton from Peru." No percentages of alpaca and cotton given. All in all, false advertising in my books. The detailed description of this item is as follows: "The softest and warmest wool you've ever seen. You have to feel it! In Tinkuy Peru we care that our clothes are soft, comfortable, warm and durable; that's why we use a special blend of 100% high-quality alpaca wool." Their "special blend of 100% high quality alpaca wool" contains cotton, maybe a high percentage of cotton, who knows?

As expected, it has a really nice hand (soft), is quite light-weight and thin/non-bulky and very warm for it's weight. Good for layering or to let me keep the house a few degrees cooler this winter. Sizing is good, neither too snug nor loose and baggy. Stretchy enough to "move with me" when reaching up or working. Probably too delicate for an outer layer when doing heavy work outdoors.
