These rollers significantly reduced the noise while operating my garage door. My door is wood and very heavy. It's a two car garage door. My original rollers were metal and oozing grease from the ball bearings and all over my tracking. These rollers are lifetime guaranteed and require no regreasing or maintenance since they are sealed units. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this product. I attempted to install them but quickly realized I needed a professional to complete the job.

I had an old metal roller that went FUBAR and I needed to replace the rollers, so reducing sound was not an issue with me. But these units are much quieter than the previous metal units so that is a plus and they operate much smoother. Delivery was timely and installation was easy BUT some caution should be used on the lowest units (towards the floor) as they were a little more tricky on my door. I have a central torsion spring which has cables running down the sides of the doors and connect to the bottom roller connector. This cable has tension on it so care has to be taken when removing the assembly from the door. I used an old car tire jack to hold the door up a bit and take the tension off of the cable while I replaced the roller. That made the job quite easy doing one side at a time. There may be other arrangements out there, but good investigation before installing anything is always wise.I have a second garage door that I will be ordering a another set of these units as soon as the weather warms up a bit. Very happy with these so far.

If you use the " bend the track " method to change these rollers you will save yourself a lot of time and aggravation -- it's not as bad as it sounds -- just take a section about 3" on the curved part of the track and with some pliers bend it outward enough to get the old roller out ( pry with a screwdriver ) and the new roller in ( I suggest installing sleeves as well, slit them lengthwise if the diameter is too small ) -- never remove the bottom bracket with the wire attached -- these rollers have a nicely finished shaft that should shed debris and minimise or eliminate corrosion -- the gunk on the old rollers is mostly caused by using the wrong type of lubricant or none at all -- the rollers are supposed to roll not the shaft which is why I suggest replacing the sleeves as well -- this is a job that almost anyone could do -- with instruction, I know my 10-year-old Granddaughter could do it, with supervision of course -- my opener is loud so I still have a loud open and close cycle but now no additional noise from the rollers and the wobbling shafts -- with a belt drive DC motor opener there would be almost no noise -- very happy I invested $50.00 in this project

I decided to replace the worn out and very noisy 1989 rollers on my 2 garage doors. Each are 8 feet tall and use 12 rollers for each door. These seem to be the highest quality rollers I could find, and they do not cost a lot so chose these. After watching a LOT of very helpful YT videos I felt quite confident this would not be a difficult project---and I was right, after just now completing the first garage door. Took a little bit more than an hour.Just about everyone warns you NOT to unfasten the bottom hinges as they are attached to the tension spring. It could be very dangerous to detach the bottom hinges.Fortunately YT shows several fairly easy ways to replace the bottom rollers without detaching the bottom hinges. There are expensive sleeves you can buy to put on the roller rods to reduce the rattling of the rods. But a lot of people have complaints about them not fitting correctly---too small. Some decided to cut them along the length of the sleeves. I almost bought sleeves and maybe do that, but instead I opted to just put duct tape around the roller rods (photo). Seems to work great. One YTer used heat shrink tubing. That might work good also.I now have about 1/4 the noise level while opening and closing the garage door. Really nice!! Previously the noise was really annoying me. Not now.It will be even quieter when I install the belt-driven/DC motor opener next week.I am sorry to deduct one star for these great rollers but the package I received contained the 2 boxes of 12 roller I ordered. But the rollers were scattered though-out the package, all the rollers falling out of their boxes. Fortunately none of the rollers appear to have been damaged. Still----------!Update: Just installed on my 2nd garage door and the reduction of noise is about 10% of what it was. Hard to believe! Amazing!
