EASY TO USE
Once you've screwed the glove lacing tool onto the cowhide strips, simply follow the lacing pattern from the first time around. It's best to take out the old lace a little at a time so you can follow the original pattern and have your glove looking as good as new!

I was a little nervous to lace my almost 40 year old Rawlings RBG series glove. But I had tied off the lacing & was scared to play catch with my kids knowing it was brittle & ready to fall apart.After ordering the tan lacing to match, I went slowly in the replacement. I took some pictures as I went to make sure I was doing it correctly. I will include some before and after pics here.The end product came out perfectly. The enclosed needle worked well & the stitching is a perfect match after applying some conditioner to finished product.Now I’m waiting on the kids to get home so I can play some catch with my old glove.One of my childhood friends told me his glove needs new lacing too & I told him to drop it off. His old Wilson mitt will be next to get fixed & then we will be playing catch with the same gloves we last played catch with 40 years ago.Don’t toss your old mitt.Give it some new life!

Overall, this did pretty well. The lace is a little thick for the needle it comes with. The lace kept pulling out of the needle, even when I tried cutting it at different angles and making sure to try to thread it in. I relaced my son's glove and it got the job done. Not bad, but could be just ever so slightly thinner without pounding it out.

The needed for this kit is really awesome. Just thread the leather lace in nice and tight then push/pull the needed thru the glove holes. Can be a bit of a physical struggle, but this tool makes it possible. High quality tool and leather lacing. Recommend

Mit diesem Repair Kit, mein Baseballhandschuhe nochmals aufgepeppt und repariert. Das Lederband hat eine tolle Farbe, ist ein wenig schmaler als das vorherige Lederband (Original von Rawlings verbaut) aber trotzdem gut. Ich bin mit der Qualität zufrieden. Das Einfädeln des Bandes in den Handschuh funktioniert mit der beiliegenden Nadel sehr gut, hier habe ich kein weiteres Werkzeug benötig. Für den gesamten Handschuh (wie es auch auf dem Bild zu sehen ist - 12,5 Inch) habe ich zwei Sets hiervon bestellen müssen (etwa 1,5 benötigt)Der Versand über Amazon US ging schnell und unkompliziert, selbst in der (Vor-)weihnachtszeit.

I bought these to replace a broken lace in my son's baseball mitt. I actually tried a different brand first and it broke the very first game he played. So, I looked around and found that these TOFL laces were highly rated and recommended. When I received them, I could tell the difference right away. These just felt better, were stronger, and smelled like real leather. We replaced that broken lace (in the palm area) and so far, he hasn't had any trouble. The included needle makes it easy to re-lace the glove. So far, very pleased.

My son's glove came with really cheap, thin laces. It snapped after a couple of seasons from little league speeds! These laces are about 3x thicker than those that come in current youth gloves. I didn't realize quality had gone down so much since I played little league. It's just a matter of time before the laces snap with any regular use on stock laces. Lacing through the holes is a little tricky with the included needle. You need to screw the lace into the threads of the needle. It worked well enough with the lace coming out just once in my process. If I did this regularly, I'd definitely get a better needle, but this was fine for occasional lacing. Considering how quickly the factory lace broke, it might be a good idea to re-lace the glove as soon as you see any sign of wear.

I've had my softball glove for 25+ years. I love it. But it's pretty worn out and the laces are brittle and started breaking. I pulled it out this week to help coach my son's team and realized it needed repair. I was happy to find this product on Amazon, and it shipped in 1 day. The tool was super easy to use, and I think I did a pretty good job considering I've never re-laced a glove before. It looks so nice, I want to replace more of the lacing! The lacing came in 2 sections, and I used most of 1 section to replace the web (see picture). I do not think there is enough to do the whole glove, but at least a majority of it. I am excited to be able to use my glove again and would recommend this product!

I'd wanted to more permanently repair my 38 year old (!) Rawlings glove, that I've used a ton with my sons for the last couple years. I was sick of coming up with interesting temporary knots and fixes, but also didn't want to pony up $300 or whatever for a comparable quality new glove. So I'd originally bought the OTHER kind of lace puller gadget kit (not this one) along with some lace, at a sporting goods store. That was really pretty tough to use, and this was even on really the easiest stuff...like, just the lacing that joins the fingers to each other, super easy to get at the holes and runs.SO...I'd kind of given up on going further, cause if that was hard, the other areas were gonna be brutal. But then I REALLY started ripping out laces, and all my old knots, important ones, what was actually holding the web on, so now the glove was officially unusable (dangerous, lol). I decided to try this kit, the one I'm reviewing here, the giant 'needle' thing, to PUSH the lacing through and not pull, like the other. THIS IS TREMENDOUSLY EASIER AND MORE EFFECTIVE. I wound up using up all the lace that came with, and then actually ordered more, to replace every bit of lacing on the whole glove. Which was interesting...had to turn the thing inside out to do a portion of it...but really it became this fun project for me and my son. And the result is a glove that feels kinda like new again, cause the leather itself is all still pretty great, and now all the shiny, sharp new laces. You know.Anyway. Buy this product with confidence. The giant needle thingie works amazingly well.
